Ha, that's hilarious. Although, I'm sure there'll be plenty of adolescent boys working to figure out how to recreate this glitch, just like the ol' Nude Raider back in the day. ;)

Yeah, happen to see that this mourning on kotaku. I thought it was pretty funny, but I think the model lacks genitals (I assume they didn't model them since they are 'cleverly' masked during that shower scene). Looked weird. It did get me thinking, though. When they did motion capture for her model, did they do it for the whole thing including her body? Or do they just render that themselves? I know, kind of an odd thought, but it occured when I saw it.

Teardrop:

Ethan has to be killed by the police I believe for you to get that Madison ending. That's how I got it at least. Screw up the motorcycle part at the end and she will get arrested instead of help Ethan out of the warehouse.
Restart the warehouse chapter and choose to save it and don't let her help Ethan.

Also, it doesn't matter if you kill the doctor or not. It is implied that the doctor at the book signing was in her head. I killed him and got the ending.

Ah, I see. Well, that's just kind of weird either way

I don't know. I haven't really seen any kind of mocap stuff being done before

Has anyone evaded the cops in the subway station with Ethan and Madison? I want to try it tonight, but I want some indication of what I'm supposed to do. I had absolutely no idea when I tried it the first time, which is of course why Ethan wound up getting caught.

You go across the track to the train on the other side of the station

I evaded them, you just have to keep walking away from them and try not to miss any of the commands that come on screen. At least, that worked for me.

OK, I beat the game today. It was pretty awesome, but there were a few areas of the plot that didn't make sense, particularly regarding the identity of the Origami Killer.

Why was Shelby going after the Kramer family if he already knew they had no connection to the Origami Killer, since he is the killer himself? From what I could tell going after them had nothing to do with his efforts to destroy the evidence, nor did his aggressive assault on the Kramer mansion. It seems like a pretty big plot hole to me, and there are actually quite a few of them relating to Shelby being the Origami killer, almost as if they decided to make him the killer at the last minute.

Overall it was a great game, although I think that the twist ending was a bit out of left field. Not nearly as bad as the third act of Indigo Prophecy / Fahrenheit, but still it was noticeable for me and did open up some plot holes.

I think that was mostly a show he put on for Lauren. Since she butted into the 'investigation', he needed to do something to make sure she never suspected anything. Even though he was a killer, he didn't seem to have any real malcontent towards her, so I assume that's why he didn't just off her for sticking her nose in it originally. Then, of course, Krammer tried to kill him, so that opened up a lot of worms to finish up what he started

I figured Shelby was after the Kramers for 2 reasons: 1) revenge against the son for stealing his schtick, and 2) anger at the father for being a bad parent and raising a wannabe serial killer son. Flimsy motives? Possibly. But clearly, we know Shelby ain't the most logical guy out there.

i forgot all about that.
maybe in his own twisted way he felt the son wasnt justified in doing whatever he was doing while Shelby was trying to find those "worthy fathers". maybe he was just attacking the family because it was their construction site his brother died in. i always felt the Kramers didnt fit in the story.

It did seem like a pretty strange twist though, because suddenly a lot of the choices I made as Shelby no longer made sense. I'm not saying the character is totally implausible, but the way I played him didn't really make a lot of sense in the context of him being a serial killer, since he came across as being a compassionate softy with really hard fists. If I were playing through again with the foreknowledge that he's a serial killer, I'd probably be more inclined to play him as cold, ruthless, and uncaring.

was just playing the mad jack fight in front of the industrial vehicle and i think they based it on the raiders of the lost arc fight in front of the aeroplane. i think there's allusions to a lot of films in the game.

i guess he doesn't like a copy cat he also wants to test gordi's father for if he'll keep his sons secret. and they do threaten or have taken lauren's life so he goes to confront them. he has no problems with mothers.

That's just boring and one-dimensional to me. Shelby's the killer so he must automatically be a ruthless jerk all the time? His problem's only with fathers and people who find out his secret. He might have actually formed a genuine bond with Lauren for all we know. It seems likely, in fact; otherwise, why not just kill her once her uncomfortable interest in the Origami Killer investigation manifested? I don't mean to be insensitive, but it's not like a lot of people would notice a hooker's mysterious disappearance.

The only scene I might play differently knowing Shelby is the murderer is the convenience store. I might just stay back and let the kid rob and/or kill the guy because he was a failed father.

you need to let hassan die to get the perfect crime trophy

One thing about this game that didn't quite satisfy my old school adventure game cravings is that a lot of the gameplay revolved around button presses and the logic puzzles kind of took the back seat. I know that Heavy Rain is mean to be an interactive story first and foremost, but the logic puzzles are one of my favorite aspects of adventure games and I hope that Quantiac Dream puts a larger focus on them in their next game.

it's more like finding what actions move the story along or branch it like a choose your own adventure rather than an adventure game with puzzles. most actions you do with the controller are to involve you with the action rather than control it.

i find it enjoyable and interesting and that's all that counts to me.

with all this analysis into the "plot holes" of the story it kinda makes me wonder what if the developers intentionally left those certain things open-ended for interpretation? with the story being so malleable maybe they thought it was best not leave everything concrete so they might work under different circumstance depending how you played. just a thought.
