Heavy Rain - Light info appears and two vague screenshots.

i think if you buy movies and like to go back to them again later then it's worth buying heavy rain. it's a game you can play through fast, can skip to favourite chapters and find ways to make scenes play out differently. you can probably see everything the game has to offer in a few days. but like with a movie you might like to play it again in a month or a few years time. the DLC will add some extra scenes to play through as well.

So, how glitch heavy is this game? I tried to replay a chapter 2 times and all I got was a black screen with my PS3 freezing on me. Then there was that time when Ethan was juggling and his face looked like someone smashed it in with a sledgehammer. Also, something I noticed in the demo and also happened in the full game, when I listen to Jayden's thoughts, when I approach his car after leaving the first crime scene, the game will also freeze.

I've never had any problems with HR. I mean, there are some clipping issues and the Uncanny Valley looms large every time two characters interact with each other, but I never had any game crashes or freezes or otherwise serious issues.

Alright, make that 3 freezes on the same chapter now. I will try to load an earlier one, but I already feel pretty pissed off.

'kay, as I typed this I was loading it for the 4th time and it's freezing again.

Checked the disc, no scratches, but I noticed fingerprints. Cleaned the disc and I will try it for a 5th time. Yesterday I had no problems when I went to the main menu several times and chose to continue the story. But loading chapters is now problematic.

Well since PS3 games are Blu Ray, the discs are EXTREMELY sensitive, and ANY imperfections COULD result in problematic glitching. So it is possible that is the problem. Even a speck of dust could cause problems while playing the game. So be sure to take the disk out, and check for ANY imperfections.

Did it, nothing of the sort. Just the fingerprints I got rid off. The game still froze. I tried to load the Blue Lagoon chapters. Both with Jayden and Madison, game freeze. Loaded the part with Ethan one part earlie, worked fine.

And I think it's too much of a coincidence that the game also freezes when I listen to Jayden's thoughts, in both the demo and the final version of the game. There's definitely a bug.

Not that I can think of. The only other game that froze on me was MUA2, but we all know how buggy that game is.

Huh. I never had problems with MUA2 either. But I played that on my 360.

I also ran into a good bit of bugs and glitches playing through the game. Several instances of freezings, had it outright crash on me once, a few times it glitched out and I couldn't progress through a chapter and had to restart, and quite a few instances of skipping and audio bugs, especially near the beginning.

Apparently. My PS3 was unafflicted by the recent glitch as well. I downloaded the God of War 3 demo from the Playstation Store and finished Heavy Rain on Monday while, according to Teardrop, other people's PS3s were still unable to play games or sign into the PSN, let alone download from the store.

Same here, my PS3 didn't have any of the reported problems. I could play online/offline, enter the PSN store and download games.

Do you both own the PS3 slim? If so, they were the only ones that weren't affected.

I have a fat 40GB, and it sucks, 'cause it broked on me one time

Today is the first time I used my lips on the PS3 controller. :funny: Jayden got his withdrawal symptoms again and I had to keep a long sequence of buttons pressed so he'd take his stuff.

With my index finger on R1 and my thumb occupied on X, it was rather difficult to press circle and triangle.

I just used a couple fingers on my left hand whenever those situations came up. I was annoyed at first, but I took it in context and thought it was kind of cool that they were mirroring the discomfort of the character with the awkward-ass control scheme.

Not the only ones. A few of the original models somehow didn't get hit.
Oh really? I didn't hear about that. I have an 80 GB Fat, myself. I had heard that it was only the Slims that were unaffected. My apologies.

Btw, what's everyone's least favorite part of the game?

For me, it the Chapter sections with the kids. I didn't like it in Fahrenheit and I dislike it in Heavy Rain. Though it's not as bad in this game, since there are no freaking sneaking missions. :argh:

But I just get annoyed to jump and run around as some kid. Especially if they make annoying noises while running, like little Scottie.

The jaunt through the construction site is easily my least favorite part of the game. I don't care that they're kids; it bugs me because it's so f***ing useless. You have to run through all the crap in the construction site to get through it, which is just time-consuming and boring. Plus, it violates the core principle of the game--your choices matter--because it's a flashback and we already know Scott survives into adulthood. Probably would've been better as a simple cinematic, if the game permitted such things, and they could've used the space to address some of the plot holes, like why Ethan was blacking out or where Scott gets his money.
