I imagine there will be some more impressive footage at E3 that will hopefully change the naysayers minds.

There is nothing wrong with the graphics, just they are not as good as they said they would.
But, then again, graphics are overrated, because they are fine and convey realism, but they don´t make or break a game.

Shouldn't you hold that judgment until the game is finished?

I think what Kal means is that you should hold the judgment of 'it's not as good as the developer said it would be' until the final product is done.

Yeah.

Production's not over yet. The graphics could end up somewhere else by the time the final product is out.

Graphics are clearly a work in progress. It's also all in-game, and not pre-rendered which is something most games don't even shoot for.

Yeah, I can wait.

Mostly because I don't have the money to keep up.

I'm pretty set a few games as it is.

Yep, I really want the game, but with as big as this year is I wouldn't mind seeing it pushed back to next year. Though, I would buy it either way most likely

if this game ends up being what it appears to be then I'm probably gonna love it, i love story driven games, probably the second most important thing in a game for me, gameplay being most important of course

for me, I dont think this year is tht big. Ive grown quite bored with gaming and the only other releases left in the year that Im looking forward to are Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare2 and MuA2

For me I got

InFamous, Prototype, Uncharted 2, Ultimate Alliance 2, Ghostbusters , Modern Warfare 2, Bayonetta, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, Assassin Creed II, Dragon Age Origins, Muramasa, Fragile plus Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 which I've already purchased

With probable must buys in bold. So yeah, big ol' year for me

Yeah, big year for me too. And with games I still own unloading DLC on my plate...like GTAIV, FALLOUT 3, Fable II...ontop of games I want to get. Yeah, big year for me too.

Still need to get inFAMOUS, Batman Arkham Asylum is a must buy for me too. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Uncharted 2, COD modern warefare 2, Assassin's Creed, Ghostbusters, Borderlands, Prototype, Alpha Porotocol, Splinter Cell ConViction are all on my radar.

Plus there are games I've yet to get that I want to get. Street Fighter IV, RE5, Gears of War 2, COD WaW.

My hands are full. I can live with a few delays from a few of these, really.

This is one of the few games that I'll immediately buy when it's out. I had a great time with Fahrenheit, even if the ending got sightly whacky.

Is there a release date for this yet?

Oh, and has everyone heard this already:

But perhaps more intriguing than the carefully timed junkyard brawls and awkward nightclub seductions is the revelation that, once a hero dies, that’s it – their role in the story is finished, and the next protagonist (there are four in all) takes over. That means huge chunks of the game could remain undiscovered until your next play-through, and that you absolutely will need to be careful about the choices you make, because you won’t get a chance to make things “right” if they get you killed.

Pretty radical gameplay decision. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished game. It seems like everything I could ever want in an adventure game.

As far as I know we don't have a date. On GTTV they said next year, but that was the interviewer and not the staff, but he probably didn't say it without reason. So, it's looking like it'll be 2010.

Yeah, we were talking about the death aspect earlier in the thread. I'm thinking that the four characters may all be in different time periods and that uncovering information in one time period will direct what we know as the character in the others. That's kind of what I was thinking since on GTTV they said that no character story will directly with another

I wonder if that was one of our characters in the acid bath?:wow:

That's a cool idea.

Yeah, I thought it would work very well for the way they seem to want to go

I LOVE games that take a cinematic approach. Its one of the main reasons why I love the MGS series and why I enjoyed Indigo Prophecy so much. This game seems to be taking that to the next level. I know some cant appreciate this gameplay style/direction bc it isnt a traditional one but its one I crave and wish there were more made like this. It could be its own subgenre. Heavy Rain is definetly a must buy for me

I agree 100%. This game will be a breathe of fresh air to me. Day one purchase.

I got you beat: I'm buying a PS3 specifically for this game. I mean, I'll play other stuff, but if Heavy Rain didn't exist, I wouldn't buy a PS3. :oldrazz:

I know the constant QTEs are gonna bug me, just like they did in Indigo Prophecy, but Quantic Dream's stories are usually worth it. Except for those last couple levels of IP, but I don't like to talk about that. ;)

The QTEs dont bother me. Its the story that sucks me in and IP had an amazing one until the scifi stuff in the final stretch of it. They seem to be taking their time with HR and it doesnt appear that it will be rushed like that title. The called IP an interactive movie and thats exactly what it felt like. The story for HR seems so much more involved and intriguging. Im sure it will be amazing once we all get to play it
