Help..

Who the hell are you? Go away.

And Orko, ****in' A. I wouldn't go that far though. I just don't care about it. The story bores the hell out of me. I don't know why anyone would refer it as Shakespeare's greatest. I got about 4 pages so far. There will be no sleep tonight.

Oh yeah and Mika rules.
I hope you get an F:cmad: And there goes me e-mailing you my report out of kindness. We did an extensive report over that last semester in English lit. Have fun not sleeping:woot:

I think people overplay the Freudian aspect because of the Mel Gibson movie.

Never seen it. Though I did like the "modern" version with Ethan Hawke, Julia Stiles, and Bill Murray.

Ooo, more stuff to add on. Thanks guys, really.

didn't see that one, but the Gibson film has stronger Freudian implications.(he dryhumps his mother in one scene. And she kisses him on the lips sometime during the first few acts.):o

The Branagh Version > Everybody Else

That's SUCH a teacher question.

Probably the strongest angle to take on your paper would be to analyze how Hamlet's Freudian relationship with his mother affected his judgement and therefore his actions.

Dude, it's not a teacher question it's one of the ultimate bull$hit questions. You can argue anything in literature classes. I was a science major and I tore up all the non-science classes because after arguing with fact and reason and data for so long, it becomes real easy to support arguments with wishy-washy gray-area materials.

The Branagh Version > Everybody Else

The Branagh version was incredible simply because it was essentially unabridged. Perhaps completely unabridged, I can't remember. How often can you make a shakespearian movie that entertains but leaves EVERYTHING in it? It's rare. It's a total gem.

Of course it is, the Ethan Hawke version is like the Cliff's Notes version of Hamlet. But it's an interesting take on the story.

Haven't seen it, but I've seen the Gibson version as well.

Didn't like Gibson's Hamlet/Gertrude stuff, and I much preferred Branagh's casting and his film's more theatrical feel.

Branagh's casting was brilliant. And the whole feel of the film... it was strangely isolated and lonely but still epic and grandiose. I am still marveling at how he did it.

Hamlet sucks. MacBeth pwns Hamlet :o

Macbeth is my 2nd favourite Shakespearean play. It's rather entertaining watching the supposed hero descend into madness when the forest comes at him :)

Macbeth was pretty cool. Actually it was probably cooler than Hamlet, but I like the soliloquy's and crap in the latter.
