Heralds

I can get behind this Kathyrn writes the female Marvel characters well and maybe we'll get some form of Lady Liberators ongoing that I've been wanting ever since She Hulk took over leadership of that team.

Could be, she did sacrifice herself, but Galactus has had a **** ton of heralds before the ones we've gotten to know, of course it wouldn't make sense for a previous Herald than those to come back for those who left her behind. So it's probably Frankie Raye.

Will be good occasionally shading faintly towards great, sell 11k copies.

I figure it's Frankie as well. Stardust is the only other herald I ever thought of as female, but I believe it was finally, definitively said to be a genderless energy being.

I'm definitely picking this up. I don't like all of the characters involved, and I really wish the Invisible Woman could've been the team, but She-Hulk and Valkyrie are enough of a draw for me to try it out. I'm curious to see how Immonen will handle Hellcat's relationship with Brunnhilde, as opposed to the Valkyrie she actually knew on the Defenders (not sure which one that was, though).

Do any of you remember the she-hulk one shot about getting together with sue storm and some other female characters. They teamed up to beat some cosmic chick that was really tough. Anyways, I loved that book and can't wait to see something of the same. I love Jen!

Well if this is Hildy, then no problem. She was trapped in Barbara Norris' body but it was more of a melding of Norris' mannerisms with Hildy's consciousness. After Barbara's body was killed and The Enchantress was made to free Hildy's body that's when Hildy got her strength / endurance back and started to speak in that Shakespeare speak again.

Hellcat was distant at first but they had a good cry and everything went back to normal.

Cosmic Collision, yeah. That was a great read.

Yep, that was the Lady Liberators. Not sure why they didn't just make this another Lady Liberators story. The cast is almost the same; just swap Emma for Sue.

Thundra is also missing, but that's because she's back in her universe now thanks to Red Hulk.

Me either really, she was only good during the Liberators run for the other women to remark how she took the women power thing too far.

I appreciated her enthusiasm for cutting Red Hulk's head off.

Sounds interesting. Probably try it out. Is it an ongoing or mini? Didn't see mention of that in the article

5 issue mini. I think I may have seen something that it's supposed to be weekly too.

Heh. I am amused by the fact that they only linked the 'Hulk' in 'She-Hulk' and to Bruce to boot. Shulkie doesn't even have her own page? Go girls, go!

Why trade Sue for Emma?

I mean... to be more evil? Is that what this party is shooting for?

Bah!

:ff: :ff: :ff:

We've all told you about this. Emma Frost is not evil. She hasn't been evil in more than 15 years.

She's no more evil than Namor. Redemption is possible for anyone and Emma has long since been over as a good guy.

I'm pretty sure that's why Immonen swapped Sue for Emma (if indeed she used the Lady Liberators as the basis for this team and the rest of the membership isn't just coincidence). She mentions in the article that she wanted a good mix of personalities. None of the other ladies on the team are b****es to the extent that Emma is, so she'll probably create some dramatic conflict within the group.

I think the reason it's so easy to read Ermintrude as a villain 15 years after the fact is that good or evil, she's still a consummate *****.

...Although I guess that's another one that would go for Namor too.

I agree, though possibly also they wanted someone of her powerset (and/or draw in some X-fans). Emma's got a markedly different personality from most Marvel heroines, so she creates some contrast (one of the main reasons she caught on so well within the X-Men).
