Panther:
Beat the Surfer in a way that is in Canon.

Storm:
Showed a TASTE of the power sh has exibited in Space before.

Thing:
Was a "Thinking" Ben Grimm,... very refreshing.

Torch:
Brought it to the Heralds with the power cosmic.

I even liked the return of Gravity,.... but I'm hating his giving up his power.

I ACCEPT that I'm the ONLY one who liked that issue,... but it wasn't as far fetched as the mess i'm reading elsewhere in Marvel.

Having accepted this rendition of the FF,.. I'm now ready to defend them.

How did Panther "beat" the surfer?

With prep time.

He had a copy of a machine that Dr. Doom once used to steal the Surfer's Power Cosmic. He stole it, then gave it to Johnny, who has had experience using the Power Cosmic before.

It was alright, actually. Not nearly as a bad as the headlock from the last issue, though few things are ever going to be as bad as the headlock from the last issue.

It was funny seeing Storm the egomaniac threatening to unleash her full power on Galactus' heralds like it would actually do anything to them. Funny like sad.

If panther can get the surfer in a hold, whats makes you think storm can't hurt the heralds in this comic to?

He busted out the same sort of machine that Dr. Doom invented to steal Surfer's Power Cosmic twice. It worked better than a grapple last issue. :wow: I would like to know how Storm overpowers Stardust, aside for "jobber aura" because she is more popular.

Despite some notable flaws, I am enjoying McDuffie's FF arc so far. The only issue was the whole Gravity thing just seems pointless. He died, only to come back as Protector of the Universe, and almost looking like Nova Lite until he sacrifices his power just to be revived, no fuss no muss. On the last NJF's, Joe admits that when Gravity died in BEYOND!, he was supposed to return as the new Capt. Marvel, but then Joe & Co. decided to actually revive the real Mar-Vell, so they basically were stuck on what to do with Gravity, leaving McDuffie with the task as he offed Greg in the first place. The only benefit is that it allowed Gravity to avoid the CW and still have a possible good rep, as he was given a hero's burrial. On the downside, his identity is exposed and lord knows if Brushfire & Black Death (or any of the other villians Gravity tangoed with, including Rhino, Whirlwind, and Shocker) have threatened his girlfriend or something. It looks like Gravity is truly experiencing what Marvel heroes do, just at an accelerated pace; being underappreciated, having relationship issues, being randomly killed only to be mundanely resurrected, and now loses his secret identity. Yikes. ;)

Meh,...

I read what she did at the galactic core,... I want her to hurt a heralds feelings.

there is previous scribble that has her manipulating more cosmic than any one herald,... She still didn't fully cut loose here.

I think Marvel would just for one short run - strand Storm Light Years from Earth and let her cut loose to get back.

I read this as Gravity not suppose to die (at the minimum) so they brought him back.

Now,.... Make him part of the Nova Corps along with Cannonball and FireStar.

I'd read that.

Storm is sooooo stupid. What a terrible set of powers. And they let her use her WEATHER POWERS in SPACE. Her EARTH WEATHER POWERS.

Worst mutant ever

One, he should've have been able to get the Surfer in a hold, and two, Stardust is the Galactus herald version of Storm, as s/he is a cosmic etheral storm in living form, given the power cosmic who was basically ripped apart by Beta Ray Bill, shook it off after a length battle, and eaten by Galactus, and came back like it was nothing.

Storm minorly blowing Stardust up probably would just piss hir off.

Well, I DO like a lot of what happened, Black Panther having something like this prepared, the whole possibility of having a back up Silver Surfer level of power cosmic now in their hands, Galactus, the return of Gravity, the position of Protector of the Universe opened up again. There's a lot of good stuff aiming to happen in it really.

Cannonball and Firestar? That seems a bit random. Firestar at least used to be Nova's teammate, but, Cannonball? C-List X-Men who's in X-MEN right now? Why? Just curious.

Interesting as the tale was, Gravity works best doing the terran hero thing.

Well, we never gave him a chance to do cosmic stuff. But I think he's still far too green to get chuted into the cosmic scene.

Gravity, of course.

We could say the same about Richard Rider.:o

We could, and you're a big enough ******* to do it. :o

But you love me too much. :D

But Richard was also around as Nova for a few years, which was better than the two weeks Gravity had been around.

Yeah, but with time, who knows. And the upcoming Annihilation sequel, anything could've happened.

Well, I mean, Gravity seemed to me like he had plenty to do in the cosmic scene, but I'd rather see him do a New Warriors thing first. I think it would just bee too early in his characters development to embroil him in a multi billion death war, where you have the guy you just recharged going on a rampage across the universe, the Kree/Skrull conflict heightening due to Annihilus forces in the quadrant, and going about basically pulling everybody out of the fire nonstop. I think I'd like to see him eased into it a little more. Not that he'll have a chance with the Initiative, but a better chance than Annihilation.

Are you not like 15 YEARS too late with this complaint?

(chuckle)

Here's how I see it:

Nova Corps is GONE.

Until thew support structure can be rebuilt,... If they recruit they are going to have to grab folk with power of their own that they can augment to levels that a Nove Prime operate at.

Cannonball Has Flight, Invulnerability when blasting, and is currently learning how to manipulate his blast field for other uses.

FireStar is the Human Torch with out the flame requirement thru the manipulation of Microwave thru apparently Infrawave energy. She has enhanced durability, flight, and is also learning how to diversify the use of her base powers.

Both are currently at "Loose Ends" and the first to come to mind to me as possible "good" canidates.

Everyone Else I thought of is active on a team or dead.

Cover art previews suggest Nova may recruit a new Corps-person around issue #4 or #5, and it appears to be a female Kree. ;)

Which means they'll fight, as they have a tendency to do this opposite effect.
