I've been watching this, not just for Heroes but for shows in general. Heroes is still the number one most pirated TV show. If you notice, a lot of the shows at the top of the list are shows that air on Monday nights - Prison Break, The Sarah Connor Chronicles etc. People have to pick and choose what shows to watch and what to drop.

Now, this won't help in ratings or renewel/cancellation, but Heroes isn't in any danger at this point. This may make NBC crack down on Torrent sites though.

So what could it possibly mean? We may possibly see Heroes moved to a different day in the future. Not saying it's going to happen, but it's a high possiblity that it could be moved from Monday nights @ 9.

As to when? Wednesday nights at 9 are pretty much a dead zone, probably 8 PM as well, although that would suck for Pushing Daisies fans (my friends love it) it's already suffering in the ratings.

Here's the article for you all: http://torrentfreak.com/top-10-most-pirated-tv-shows-on-bittorrent-081028/

american programmes should get with the times and have their own internet channel.

It's purely for international viewers to watch it at the same time as regulars.

That way they can charge even more for their advertising on the net which means everybody ultimately wins and we don't have this incredible lag time between shows in different countries

It also means national television in most countries will have to step up their game to fill the void the american shows took which would mean more chances for young inspiring directors and writers to make their break.

Oh, and sorry this came out of blue like that. lol

I'm an advertising student, so this kind of stuff interests me from the advertising prospective.

It won't matter what day its on, it will still be pirated just as much.

Well I download it, I'm from england and live in Spain so would have to wait a long time for it to come over here which is pointless when I can see it NOW!

But I agree with November Rain that is best option to move forward but its true, people will still download!

An internet channel is a very good idea November Rain, seeing as a lot of advertisers are moving their focus towards internet advertising. Not to say that traditional commercials are dying out, but they are not nearly as important as they use to be.

I don't mind the idea of an internet channel, but in all honestly from my experience trying to use them, they almost never work. There are too many problems with connection issues/speed, plugins/players, etc, for it to be a perfect scenario for everyone IMO. Hell I can't watch the streaming eps on NBC's website after they air, the damn things never load, no matter what computer or connection speed I'm on.

The only one that has worked perfectly in every way is South Park Studios website. Other people should look into what they did as a precedent.

I watch the show live and still download it bc I watch it over again at least once during the week. Heroes is a show that needs repeated watching in order to fully understand it

If they had an international internet channel to show it on (with adverts so we dont have to pay) I would gladly watch it on that :D

in the uk, all the main television stations have access to their home grown shows on the internet for at least 7 days after they are broadcast, the system has been running for over a year now and it works beautifully.

it also stops the majority of the shows getting to youtube because they are readily available.

there is only so many times you'll want to watch a show before the box set. the internet channels stop other sites stealing your advertising competition by having it readily available, you only have to sit through two/three adverts during your viewing but everybody wins.

i'm surprised the states haven't picked up on this marketing opportunity. heck, if i was heroes, i would screw the syndication deals and put it straight up on the web and deal with marketing myself so i could take all the profits.

think of a worldwide advertising campaign for a show as big as heroes every week, knowing 100s of millions from across the globe will be watching simultaneously.

all you need is one hot season on air and the rest on the internet exclusively for subscribers, followed by tv and boxsets later.

I'm a little confused.

Heroes is already available on nbc.com and Hulu.com... why would anyone need to pirate it?

can't watch it if you are outside of the us.

besides, don't think many people are aware of that fact. it certainly doesn't come up as the best searches for it on google.

really? why not? you can't get hulu.com internationally?

Nope. If you're out of the US the NBC website or Hulu won't let you view the shows. Also people download it through torrents to burn them to their own DVD's or just to keep them for later viewing.

I use to do that for quite a few shows.

wow. that's lame. i had no idea.

well in that case... Ahoy Pirates, continue plundering!!
