He's The Secret Weapon... David Ayer IS the Director and Script Writer

To be fair, the BvS vs. Star Wars VII stuff between Abrams and Snyder was pretty cool.

I remember back then people actually believed the Batmobile had been stolen and the haters started criticizing the movie lol

Ayers seem to be staging some sort of intricate sequence on a city street involving a lot of cars.

It could be the scene where
the Squad kidnaps Enchantress,
if the rumors are true.

I wasn't even aware we had rumors to mull over.:wow: Gimme, gimme, gimme... :woo:

I think he means the rumours of the plot, or at least part of it, being the Suicide Squad having to get a bio weapon from human traffickers that turns out to be Enchantress. If memory serves, the other party was Luthor in the rumours.

Hmm...
Not sure I like the bio weapon angle for Enchantress, unless that's a smoke screen cover for her magical power.

Ayers has quit directing and has moved on to general contracting.

I used some of my tax refund money to buy all of Ayer's movies, and so far I'm not disappointed. This guy is a raw, pure talent and his knack for crafting ensemble pieces and cop dramas is second only to Michael Mann. The best way I can describe him is "Michael Mann on Steroids."

I cannot imagine a better writer/director for this project, and damn it, he's climbing my list as one of my favorite writer/directors.

So yeah, I own every film he's been a part of as a writer and director, and here's his filmography:

Writer:
U-571 (2000)
The Fast and the Furious (2001)
Training Day (2001)
Dark Blue (2002)
S.W.A.T. (2003)

Director:
Street Kings (2008)

Writer / Director:
Harsh Times (2005)
End of Watch (2012)
Sabotage (2014)
Fury (2014)

This dude KNOWS how to write, man. He really gets it. Training Day is one of the best screenplays ever written.

These characters (especially The Joker) are in the hands of the man who wrote the character Alonzo Harris.

Needless to say I am optimistic.

I always thought it was Denzel who carried that role. On Ayer's part I think he's more talented in casting and directing, than he is writing.

If Ayer does a good job would you rather see him direct a sequel, a spin off, or something bigger like the Batman Solo? The third is least likely obviously but who knows, he did tweet this fwiw:

“@Doom1339: @DavidAyerMovies What's your favorite comic book character?” Tied between Superman and Batman

Assuming Deathstroke is in on this I'd most like to see a Deathstroke spin off since he's probably my second favorite comic book villain of all time.

Love Ayers' response to that question. Same with me.

Or maybe he can do the Supes solo if Snyder is busy with JL.

David Ayer ‏@DavidAyerMovies Working on the script again. Need the best and smoothest draft possible. #writing #SuicideSquad

I'm hyped as hell for this movie, but I've never seen anything Ayer's done. Can someone give me the basic gist of his style/why everyone seems to think he's a perfect fit?

I haven't seen Street Kings, but so far Sabotage is the only one the Ayer-directed films I didn't like. And Training Day is, of course, a superbly written movie. With David Ayer on board and the cast they've got, I'm really pumped for Suicide Squad.

Just watch his movies and your hype levels will go through the roof.
