Fantasy Highlander Remake

The way I feel about the movie, its remake, and all of the sequels and offshoots from the series can be summed up in the movie's most memorable quote.

I hope the script is much, much better than the original. The original had decent ideas but the movie wasn't good so I welcome a remake with open arms.

Right away the writer has to establish who & what are immortals & slowly sprinkle it thru the story

i like Ryan Reynolds, but i can't see him as Connor. the guy that plays Jon "the bastard" Snow on Game of Thrones would make a great Connor.

Are my top picks as Connor Mccloud

I like Reynolds, but I dunno ......... I think the person playing the lead needs to have that weary, travelled, European kinda look about them. Christopher Lambert had it. Ryan Reynolds doesn't really have it.

I know he gets suggested for a lot, but I really do think Fassbender would wear this role like a glove.

Friggin' Ryan Reynolds...I like him but have to agree not a good fit here. Of course if they're going in a totally different direction maybe it won't matter.

So this is going to be part comedy? I have seen a couple of films that Ryan played straight, but I have a feeling if he's going to be training and learning who he is, there's going to be a lot of "Reynolds humor" going on. I don't necessarily hate it, but if they're going to remake Highlander, take it seriously for ****s sake.

again congratulations to the agent. you are very good at your job.

its not about comedy. Reynolds was in movies where he had no jokes. this is hollywood talking with Reynolds because they think he is a big known actor to promote the movie. he doesnt make a f.... difference at the BO. he is money thrown away. dont tell me that there are no cheaper more knonw actors in hollywood right now

Reynolds wasn't the problem of GL. It was the script. The man can act well seriously when he can. Hopefully this script is good.

Whenever Reynolds is attached to a new project, am I the only one who still thinks, "Yeah... but what about Deadpool?"

Like I said, "I have seen a couple of films that Ryan played straight", and I thought he did well, especially in Buried. I'm just hoping he doesn't do too much comedy in this film, I expect some but I hope he takes the role seriously.

Reynolds is a decent actor for sure, but he is NOT RIGHT for Connor MacLeod, he shouldnt even be considered.

Did this director do Buried?

I think he will make sure to be serious. And hopefully Reynolds will know. But hey, I like Reynold's levity, as long as it is the right kind and doesn't feel off from the tone.

The thing with his comedy is, it's usually more present in romantic comedies, which are supposed to be funny, and action films with bits of comedy peppered throughout.

In the case of Green Lantern, his character, Hal Jordan, is supposed to be kind of careless and sarcastic, with a serious edge. However, it seemed like he cranked up the sarcasm factor, to the point where I just couldn't take him seriously, even in moments that were supposed to be serious. I think, though, the script and the director directing him were mainly responsible for the way Ryan acted in that film. If the director had taken a more serious approach, Ryan probably would have approached the character more seriously as well.

If he's in a film, like Buried, where he mainly needs to stay serious because of the gravity of the situation his character is in, he can be serious. Again, it all depends on the direction and the tone.

they should just go for an unknown like Robocop is. however, if they want a big name someone like Michael Fassbender or Ewen McGregor would be excellent.
