Those actors are not known to be funny. The studio is looking for more laughs with this film, and perhaps even make it more family friendly I think.

I randomly bought Highlander on Blu Ray during a Boxing Week sale and I've become a big fan. Seen every movie as well as the series.

I wish they'd reboot it as a sequel instead of a remake. They could tell a similar story to introduce people to the world. I'd make it about John MacLeod (Connor's adopted son from 3), he turns out to be immortal, Duncan (let's all ignore The Source) becomes his Ramirez, add a bad ass villain and there we go. They're going to have a hard time with The Kurgan. How the hell do you replace THAT role? Clancy Brown was iconic.

I'm a huge fan of Reynolds. But this has Fassbender written all over it.

And the only sword I want Reynolds to swing, are a pair of katanas.

I would imagine this has more to do with Reynolds being a name and fairly good with swords than it does him being suited for the role. I guess if he can pull off the accent (if there's an accent) I can kind of see it. I dunno. I never thought HIGHLANDER was all that good a movie. Cool enough, but pretty average as a film beyond the effects and swordplay. A family friendly HIGHLANDER? Hard to picture.

I'm normally not too big on how much a guy like Fassbender gets fancasted for everything once he nails a high profile role but in this case I agree he would be pretty awesome for this

It's almost as ridiculous as when they suggest Green Lantern was going to be Jack Black and a comedy. Though in hindsight, it's equally depressing to think that may have been better than what we actually got in the end.

Yeah, def. He was awesome in Buried. Fireflies in the Garden was another one that stands out to me. I think when everyone hears his name they assume he'll default to his Blade 3 shtick.
