His Dark Materials

Don't be daft. I'm not talking literally Game of Thrones.
Don’t be rude. You literally used GoT as your one benchmark comparison.

There are many shows with lower budgets that can pull off great visuals. Even BBC's own Sherlock. What I'm saying is based on this teaser, they should be doing better with their visuals for a fantasy series.
I don’t see how this looks cheaper than Sherlock or any other British fantasy shows, but to each their own.

I thought the cinematography looked alright . No shots of the daemons though. Curious to see how they’ll work them in because all those effects are definitely not going to be cheap.

Say what you will of the movie, but Sam Elliott was perfect casting. Anyone else is gonna be tough to fill in.

I'm not familiar with the books, and didn't see the film, but...
This does look fantastic! And fun!

Hopefully this doesn't keep Dafne Keen Fernández to busy from reprising her Laura (X-23) role for the proposed Kyle & Mangold sequel.
If her X-23 didn't already, this (Lyra Belacqua (oddly enough another orphan character with powers)) will likely get her even more attention. Hopefully Disney/Marvel hasn't dropped this, and comes up with a script and go-ahead by the time this wraps, or something for her to shoot between seasons.

Very nice. I saw golden compass, this looks more intense.

Looks pretty great. I like the books. Well, the first two books. My only regret is no Kidman and Green. Just hard to match their presence. But otherwise, looking good.

This looks really good. I thought the Golden Compass movie was crap, but this looks like it will be much better. That cast is excellent.

This does look interesting. HBO puts out enough great shows I'll try most anything. :)

Looks ****ing great to me. And is making me want to re-read the books.
I remember when I got excited for the original movie, so I read the books. I am still confused by the third's existence. :funny:

This looks high quality. Like higher quality then Stranger Things, which I was not expecting.

Though I have a hard time remembering everything that happened in it, I do remember that I ultimately liked The Amber Spyglass on the whole, but it was...a lot. Some of it uncomfortable, lol.

I appreciate it a bit more now that I am older. But at the time it was definitely not what I was expecting. :funny:

Watching the trailer, I do miss the movie compass. One of my favorite little film trinkets. Weird how much X-23 sounds like Dakota Blue Richards when she said Iorek's name. :hehe:

This looks incredible. It’s amazing how good the effects are. 2019 TV effects better than 2007 movie effects  Granted it’s HBO but still.

Yeah, this looks really good. McAvoy looks a lot better than Craig, who was obviously just collecting a paycheck with that movie. And I'm 100% sure Ruth Wilson will be better than Nicole Kidman was.

Co-signed on all points, I'm loving the look of this so far.

The BBC are starting to run trailers too so I imagine it'll air at the same time as HBO here in the UK.
