Another 13th Warrior fan here. I have the DVD, and I considered buying the blu-ray, but there are no additional features there either.

You're doing great though so no worries.

I have the score, but I've yet to see a bluray version.

It is really good. Vartha's work makes me want to watch season two again to see if I can pick out any distinguishing features.

Again, good work Vartha!

Vartha

Different deal . With the graphics can you do a map of the Viking lands. Sort of like Westeros on GOT

Anyone know when it returns?

Thanks guys! I guess I could do a map if I had the particular areas that are involved
When Vikings returns? I know they return next year just not sure on the date

Vartha, those images are awesome!

Are you going to add some shadows and accoutrements like rugs, skulls/bones, and shields/swords to them?

Keep up the great work.

The second season premiered in Feb., but there was no for sure date until a couple months before. I expect the same thing for this new season.

Also, for anyone interested, the first season is available on Amazon Prime.

Good observation, Siby. Another thing I would mention is trash or 'rushes' on the floor. Many medieval buildings had that.

There was a blu ray version several years back, but it was a bad transfer. The blu ray is not current, but you can find a used copy. Caution.....it's not worth it.

well Shadows don't work well INSIDE (it gets too dark to see anything) and the gray objects in front of the chairs ARE wolf skin rugs. there are skulls, look on the posts in the first through 4th pics. AND there are a couple of Spears holding up cloth on either side of the "thrones"
If I upload this for others to download themselves, I need to keep it simple so it won't crash a computer. Besides Google Sketchup isn't the best and I can't use Maya on my laptop

Looks like the BBC is following the History Channel's lead and making their own Viking invasion of Britain series.

Sounds like it would make a good companion piece to this show
The series is instead a historically rooted drama about the ninth-century wars between the Anglo-Saxons and Viking invaders.

Based on Bernard Cornwell’s bestselling series of “Saxon stories”, the drama is set in England during the reign of King Alfred, when “the separate kingdoms of what we now know as England have fallen to the invading Vikings and the great kingdom of Wessex has been left standing alone and defiant”.

Merging historical figures and fiction, The Last Kingdom’s hero is Uhtred, born the son of a Saxon nobleman, who is orphaned by the Vikings and then kidnapped and raised as one of their own.

Forced to choose between the country of his birth and the people of his upbringing, Uhtred treads a dangerous path between Saxon and Viking as he seeks to recapture his ancestral lands.

The Last Kingdom promises “heroic deeds and epic battles” as well as clashes involving warriors like Ivar the Boneless and his feared brother, Ubba.

Nice! I just hope I can somehow watch it with no cable.

Updated alittle

"History’s Vikings has a pillage-worthy comic book debuting at Comic-Con this week, and here’s a first look at the cover. The image has Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) and Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) front and center with the Viking gods Loki and Thor are depicted on the top of the page. The comic is being given out to fans who visit the Vikings behind-the-scenes exhibit in downtown San Diego (450 2nd Avenue) during the fan convention.

Guests will be treated to viking makeovers (the hair, the make-up, the weapons) and placed into backdrops from the shows to get a share-worthy photo. History’s Vikings is returning for a 10-episode third season next March.”

I just finished watching all the episodes and I have to say I love this show! I can't believe it took me so long to see this. I hope they continue someday with the exploits of Ragnar's sons.

Given this show's popularity among both the public and critics I'm surprised the History Channel hasn't greenlit more scripted dramas. They have all human history to choose from so there's no shortage of stories to tell.

Ragnar riding in a boat with a crown and severed head like a boss

So a cast member is going to die. I hope it's Siggy. She's never really lived up to her potential in my eyes. If not her, then Thorunn. I couldn't bear losing Ragnar, Lagertha, Bjorn, Floki, or even Aslaug. Aslaug has a conniving, arrogant ***** side that needs to come out someday.
