Well, we all seem to get the impression that TLH is to TDK as YO was to BB.

Niether was/will be a direct adaptation, but they bothe seemed to draw heavily from those two sources, from what we have seen so far, and been told so far.

I do not expect in anyway for the Holiday Killings to be a part of TDK, but I was curious if they might allude to them, or Holiday, in some manner in the film.

What would you think if they did, and how would you see them doing it?

I am just thinking of how this could be included as one of the allusions to TLH in TDK.

We had the bat calling device, and the final scene, and the focus on Falcone in Begins all drawn from Year One.

We have the "I believe in . . . " and the sense of how they will handle Dent, and the introduction of the "Freaks" into Gotham in The Dark Knight, all of which are probably drawn from, or influenced by, The Long Halloween.

It would certainly tickle me to have a very subtle allusion to Holiday, or even something that would have a double meaning reference only to those who have read the book, being thrown in Begins.

But obviously not a full blown adaptation of Holiday. That could only be done in it's own movie, or animated movie/arc.

Who knows, maybe someone pulling the "him/her" dialogue in reference to an uknown killer in one scene.

What do you guys think, and how would you like it done, and what other references would you love to see?

Well, what happens now Falcone's gone? There's gotta be a power vacuum and Maroni also needs an opposing crew or else it's difficult to have a mob war. May as well introduce Falcone's son and continue an established plotline rather than just set up someone new.

Maybe it's Anthony Michael Hall. Give him the purple shades and have him fake his own death because he knows the Joker's gonna get him.

The rooftop scene with Gordon, Bats and Dent will definitely be in too.

i think joker will be the closest thing to holiday in tdk. killing off mobsters (and maybe the commish and mayor?) one by one, while dent, gordon and batman try to stop him. maybe "see you in december" is a reference to the holiday murders?

If Joker's announcing his crimes beforehand he might even do them on holiday dates, to make it 'more special'.

April Fools would be a good day for something, and we did get a little hoax this year so....

This is probably the closest we'll get.

How is Falcone "gone"?

If Tom Wilkinson were back we could assume Falcone recovers, but I guess not.

Setting up his son could be as simple as showing a picture of Tom in a newspaper, maybe use the same bar or something...

I want Falcone back but who knows....I mean he's not dead just scared lol he'll snap out of it

Yeah, would be fairly simple--since Crane put him in there for his corrupt reasons, he probably got out shortly after the whole Arkham business settled down.

Or he could have escaped with the other inmates and is running things in a more underground fashion.

i think that the long halloween was overrated, it dragged out too long.....and two face is an overrated character in my opinion, he doesnt do crap

Yeah, Falcone should come back. They cured everybody else.

I thought Falcone was beyond repair, like Rachel would have been had Batman not gotten her to the antidote in time?

"in this city, justice can be decided with the flip of a coin" Two-Face before killing Carmine Falcone

MAN : What about her?

CRANE: She hasn't got long.
I gave her a concentrated dose.
The mind can only take so much.
Now go.

Anywho, perhaps the 'vigilante' is Holiday? Personally, I echo the notion that Holiday deserves his own storyline, as TLH is one of the best mystery stories in all of Batman lore.

And Holiday killed mobsters in TLH, in DV the new killer killed police officers. "Two Can Play This Game."

Maybe that's the big secret of Anthony Micheal Hall's role...maybe he's Holiday...

yeah um there's not gonna be any Holiday here. at all.
Alberto Falcone is the most you can hope for and maybe Joker killing people on special dates.

I agree.

But what about Falcone?

^ Scarecrow needed Falcone out of action permanently, if he gave him a minor dose he'd come to and rat him out like he threatened to. Apart from that Tom Wilkinson isn't back in the cast and said so in interviews he's a done character.

Thought so.

But, they could bring Falcone back. It would just take one line of dialogue.

Dr. Whomever: "Mr. Falcone was cured by the electric-shock-water therapy, provided by NASA."

It was never really specified. But right before he gassed Falcone, he did imply that if he was going to betray Ra's, they were going to take him out.

Falcone continued to betray Ra's and, well, you know the rest.

I personally hope he returns. Falcone's legacy in the Batman mythos deserves just a bit more than the first half of BB. If Nolan really is using TLH as the predominant influence on TDK, then it would make sense for them to have both Maroni and Falcone not only battling each other, but battling the freaks as well. Of course, there is only so much you can put into one film.

Yup. Crane gave him a dose designed to silence him permanently and he still hadn't received the antidote the next night when Rachel visited him

Um, have you read the issues back to back?

Everytime I pick up that book, just to flip through it, I end up reading it cover to cover. It does not drag at all.

When spread out over a year, all long arcs like that can seem to drag. Man I wish i had read it as it was beingrelease, would have been intense, lol.

As for your Two-Face comment, well, wasn't that the point of TLH? to change that?
