I want to use a PS3 to hook up to my receiver and HDtv to watch Blu-Ray movies.

Someone told me that I need a receiver with HDMI or Component outputs and inputs, but I just noticed that my receiver doesn't have these!

If this is the only way, then this sucks. I just set up my receiver and speakers about 5 months ago. They were cheap ($200, but it's Sony), but I've fallen in love with the sound. I would be pissed... :(

So, what should I do?:

1. Totally replace my receiver or my entire home theater system with a new one.
2. Connect the PS3 via HDMI/Component directly to the TV and then connect the PS3 via composite audio directly to the Receiver.

I think for the short run, I should go with #2, because I'm not ready to replace my receiver just yet.

What do you think?

Ooh...I can use the Optical digital output! I didn't know that the PS3 had it. I'm saved!
