Homeland producers re-team for FX's "Tyrant"

The 4 people that were executed; i know one was Jamal's in-laws, the another was Tarik's main Lt; but i couldn't make out the other two; was one of them that Journalist friend of Bassam who wrote him the speech…?

I don't think he was executed. He's a pretty big role. They would have focused on his face or given him a line if they were to kill him off.

He's safe. I think Bassam included him in the plan at the last minute as a speech writer. So that stupid father-in-law wouldn't know of him when he stupidly gave everything up to Jamal. The father-in-law was the only bald guy in the group. So I think the head security /chief of staff guy might have been saved as well. Damn shame if the show doesn't come back.

I forgot about him.:wow:

They'd better f***ing renew this show. If TV stations will put crap like The Mindy Project on life support, Tyrant sure as hell deserves a chance.

Ohh yes, I was worried this might be cancelled. Thank you FX executives not ever knowing would of been terrible.

Back tonight. Almost forgot.

Really good premiere. I really like the direction things are going in. Things seem to be crumbling around Jamal, even if he doesn't realize it yet.

That is interesting decision that Jamal made in sparing Bassam a trip to the gallows. If he survives his trek like I suspect he will. I wonder what kind of a man walks out of that dessert. Will he find a stronger connection to Allah, or will he become the Tyrant he suspects Jamal is.

So did anyone else get some "Moses" vibes from the end and the season preview?

Bassam is exiled to the desert by his brother. Bassam is found half dead and taken in by a family. They take him back to their village where he lives amongst them and he joins them and they join him to fight back against Jamal's regime and free the country from him. He is even rocking the long scraggly beard and nomad outfit. Turban and all.

Its like they are doing a version of Ridley Scott's Exodus set in modern times. Looks exciting!:D

I always suspected Bassam to turn into the tyrant and his brother would be the one who turned out relatively normal but now I'm not so sure anymore.

I think they may end up really surprising us by the end of this story.

Good premier. The whole chess board playing set up really reminded my of the Prof.X and Magento aspect; they still love each other, they're just placed in opposing/bad positions where they're force to be on different sides.

The less they show of Molly and the kids the better.

Jamal continues to be the most interesting character on the show.

The preview for the entire season looks awesome.

I don't mind Molly that much but as long as they keep the kids to guest starring status, I'll be happy. Doesn't seem like Barry will be getting home soon anyway.

My guess is that this season is going to end with Basaam as the new president after over throwing Jamaal. As the reporter pointed out, even if "freedom," was brought to the country, it would just mean more fighting between the fundamentalists and the liberals. Abudeen needs a strong hand. My guess is Barry will lead the revolution, but become president to unify the country and slowly start to become the tyrant himself.

Another good ep, although the scene with Bassam's son on the phone with his ex-lover was really bad acting.

I bought it. It was an awkward teenager having an awkward conversation. Not much more that the actor needed to do.

more prophet mohammed..

I thought this previous episode was one of the best in the series. The family drama in the States were very forgettable. However Bassam's Journey, Leila's denial, and Jamal's weakness were fantastic.

I thought Leila's story this week was the most interesting as she first tries to avoid even talking about. Then as Jamal finishes his speech, and her comments about sincerity. You could just tell that this woman is blatantly telling herself lies. Finally to see this all come down like a brick wall was so enjoyable. The actress played the part well I thought.

Bassam's travel through the desert has been good. I was wondering if he'd come out with a greater appreciation for Allah and I think he has. Which for a country and nation like his, that can only help. I know he's going to stay in the country, that is obvious. What I wonder is how he will rally the people behind him? What we've seen so far is that violence isn't answer. Seeing Ihab struggle with even making dent in the minds of citizen is proof of that. So I wonder can Bassam rally the people peacefully. Could he be capable of being that kind of leader to a people who want change but need direction on how to make it happen.

Finally Jamal, letting his uncle manipulate him into using a bio-weapon and going along with it. It's what Bassam always feared and in this episode it came to fruition. I don't think he is really an evil person but there is no doubt he's done bad things. He didn't want things to come to this, but he did.

I'm glad Jamal's son cut that ridiculous hair. :)

Another good ep, slow, but it seems like they're building towards somethings.

The USA stuff with Molly and the family, as always, is meh. I'm beginning to think that the Lawyer than Molly has befriended has alterior motives..other than getting in her pants….

They're both going to be breaking their vows. Barry with the hot, younger 2nd wife of the guy who took him in and Molly with the lawyer.

Barry needs to announce to the world that he is alive, now! Just to void the will that gives Sammy $100 million. lol **** that kid.
