Hostel:Part II

I think Eli Roth is the biggest POS overrated fanboy director that ever existed.

Hostel SUCKED ASS.

Quoted for truth.

Hostel sucked.
What is the point of these torture/extreme gore movies, anyway?

Saw was actually good, but Hostel was one of the worst movies of all-time.

I liked Hostel. But I don't see the need for a second installment. Whatever political message, if there were any political messages at all in the film, have been put out there.

Hostel 2 will be nothing but gratitious nudity, torture, and blood without even the semblance that there's more to it than that.

I bet the story will probably be exactly the same, except with maybe a little bi-action thrown in.

Essentially, a waste of film. Why doesn't Roth move on to something else. Cabin Fever didn't warrant a sequel, and neither does Hostel.

Gratitious nudity? Torture? Blood? Maybe a little bi-action?

There's a PROBLEM with any of this?

They can't all be high art. Roth's movies are enjoyable, well-staged schlock and that works for me.

Cabin Fever blew harder than a crack ****e in need of five dollars.

And Hostel was basically Eurotrip with graphic torture scenes thrown into the mix. It was enjoyable, in a disturbing kind of way :/

Hostel is the worst film of the year thus far
If you think that then I urge you to watch Basic Instinct 2, then Tristan & Isolde. You'll get to experience first hand what it's like to be trapped in a seat having your eyeballs pulled out. Next you could try watching Poseidon and Omen 666 and ask yourself, "Why oh why do we have all of these useless remakes?" Failure to Launch, The Break Up and Scary Movie 4 provide examples of why some people should not attempt comedy. Hey, I stumbled on a Lindsay Lohan Razzie contender!

No, Hostel's definitely not the worst film of the year. :D

Touche Kurosawa,

But I still like a little story to go along with the deviance. If I just wanted to see straight nudity and no story, I could buy a porno flick.

I would like to see Roth tackle another project instead of retreading Hostel. It was better than Cabin Fever, but I don't have high hopes that Hostel 2 will be a progression. More like he'll be regressing, staying in place.

So long as there is a good supply of boobies in the sequel i'll be back.

Three girls??? That's like...

*counts*

11 boobies!!!! Count me in!!

I don't care for snuff films. I love horror films, but I think movies like Wolf Creek and Hostel are pure garbage. If I want to see boobies, I'll do a google search. It's easier and costs less money.

I have to admit that I thought Hostel was pretty bad but I did like it. Maybe I'm just a sucker for Russian chicks.

Hostel is a movie that tries to pretend it is smarter than it actually is. Elli Roth "this has alot of to say about society!". Yeah, sure it does. Americans are stupid and rude, Europeans are sex crazy and speak the wrong languages? Is that what Elli Roth is trying to say?? These two guys, they have perfectly consensual sex with women, and they need punished for it?? Exactly what is it Mr. Roth is trying to say? Throwing in the odd comment in a movie about how important family is doesn't make your movie deep or insightful. Tacking on your movie "based on a true story" when you're friend Harry Knowles saw an ad... that's stupid. The movie is not suspensful. I really think it's been so long since a good US horror film has come out that people have actually forgotten what makes a good horror film, therefore when trash like Hostel comes out people are like "it's gory!! GOOD HORROR MOVIE!!". I hate people. Yeah, sure, it's gory. But is it scary? No. It takes a LONG LONG time in this movie for any sort of horror esque moments to occur. A person would be forgiven for thinking they were watching an American Pie wannabe. More **** and ass than some porno movies. This movie throws beautiful women onto the screen to distract you from how lacking in any deph this movie is. Getting your buddy Quentin Tarantino to say he's "presenting" the film doesn't make your film good. Referencing Pulp Fiction doesn't make your film good. Having Takashi Miike do a cameo doesn't make your movie good. I doubt many fans of Hostel have even ever watched a Takashi Miike movie before. This movie is supposed to be a horror. All in all, about 10 or 20 minutes of this movie is a horror. The rest of it is a cross between just plain boring, American Pie esque humor, and **** and ass.

Freddy vs Jason. Now there is a movie that is alot smarter than Hostel!! First guy to die is a womanising pig, the second and third are alchoholics, it has a much better message. Freddy vs Jason doesn't try to be anything that it isn't. Hostel tries to pretend it is something more significant than it actually is.

I hate when Hostel fans say "this movie has a message". There isn't anything this movie says that the first slasher movies haven't, that slasher movies have said ever since, and have said ALOT better!

Hostel writer-director Eli Roth tells MTV that he's writing the sequel for three girls, something that producer Quentin Tarantino suggested. "They're studying in Italy for the summer, and they get lured, and they go back to ... well, we're going to go back to a lot of familiar places," Roth said.

Through the existence of this Italian hostel, Roth plans to reveal that the Slovakian stopover from the first
film is actually part of a chain.

"It's all part of the organization; they've got the whole thing set up all over the place, and they have different scouts," Roth added. "We're going to learn a lot more about how it all works. In 'Hostel 2,' you're really going to see the ins and outs of the whole organization and how they get people and kill them."

Roth said that Jay Hernandez's character Paxton is part of the script and he'll be encountering the three girls in Italy.

"Jay has a few less fingers, so it might be difficult for him to blend in," the
director said. "But yeah, he's not out of the woods yet."

Roth's script begins the moment the original Hostel left off. "'Hostel 2' is going to start literally with the next cut, and you're going to see [Paxton] at the same time. You'll see that he's totally messed-up from the experience. It's completely wrecked him, and his life is in ruins."

Roth hopes to begin shooting in August and to release the film in January, 2007.

I liked the first one so this should be interesting to see.
What has this to do with Alba?

I just hope those candy kids are in it again. They were my favorite scenes! "Pancakes!"

He's reflecting the perception of many Americans that anti-Americanism is rampant throughout Europe and uses it to create unease from the realization that these guys have no friends where they are. No-one will help them.

Not a fan of the first one, its a film that isn't sure what it wants to be
