How do I stop threads from becoming "subscribed"?

I just found out that nearly every thread I posted in is in my subscriptions folder. How do I stop this?

User CP --> Edit Options --> From the drop down box select Do not subcribe in the second square thing.

1) Go to Control Panel.
2) Edit Options
3) Go to "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and select "Do Not Subscribe"
