Great premiere. Its rare to see a show that stays so consistently funny, most shows tail off after a couple seasons. *coughENTOURAGE/ALWAYS SUNNYcough*

But this show manages to stay fantastic.

Always Sunny is still hilarious, lumping it in with the piece of $#!+ Entourage is just not right at all!

Did like the episode, loved the first day of school gift they gave Ted. Also Barney's rules to make make sure a girl isn't your girlfriend were great.

How I Met Your Mother turns 100 episodes old this January, and it’s marking the occasion by handing fans the mother of all gifts: some major intel about the show’s titular mama.

“There is some serious Mother action in episode 100,” reveals executive producer Craig Thomas. “It’ll be the closest Ted’s ever come to [discovering who she is]. He’s getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it.”

Although Thomas won’t outright confirm that Ted’s future wife will be unmasked, he hints that he and fellow exec producer Carter Bays “are spending a lot of time trying to cast the female role in Ted’s story for episode 100.”

And if that’s not enough to keep viewers entertained, the milestone episode will climax with what Thomas calls a “big-ass musical” number headlined by the show’s resident song-and-dance man, Neil Patrick Harris. “There will be a huge Barney story culminating in an enormous musical number that we’re going to spend way too much of Twentieth Television’s money on,” Thomas says with a laugh. “Fans of Neil’s performance at the Emmys will enjoy the ending of the episode. It’s not a musical episode, but all of a sudden it becomes one. It’ll probably be one of the craziest things we’ve ever done on the show.”

Sure. Robin, Lily, Barney, and Marshall may be funnier, but Ted and his journey is still the heart of the show. Plus I loved tonight's episode because we got a look back at pretentious Ted, I always love pretentious Ted.

I hate the goat. I just watched that episode again with the fakeout. They should never pull that crap again.

But yeah. I really hope the next episode with the doubles, has both, instead of dragging out the joke. And didn't Marshall already have two doubles in that Not A Father's Day episode?

Which is the problem... Ted is there to have laughs played off him. Not to have the funny lines. And that turns into, "Ted is the worst character."

I loved Marshall's fantasy of Lilly dying from a hiccup disease and only then can he think about other women. Marshall is my favorite character on this show.

The new season started great. Still cant belive that Neal Patrick Harris is gay (yeah i found out about it after watching the first 3 seasons).
