Anyone else totally in love with this series? It's one of the better sitcoms ever on TV, and THE BEST sitcom on TV right now...

I first got into it with the third season premiere, and then as I currently watch the third season right now, I catch up on the old episodes via dvd box sets...

so who else loves this show?

Just watched the ep where Lily and Marshall row over their childs name;

1. Nice to see Becky back although she's still wetter than the Everglades (or Queensland), a not so subtle dig at the dumbing down/bimbofication of tv news

2. Suits Ted though and once again we see his shallowness, Barney really is having a very bad affect on him

3. I agree, the 'who's your daddy?' thing always creeped me out (as Xander points out to Warren). Although Barney's little boy schtick is actually creepier

4. Lily's suggestion for a girls name is 'Tara'? a not so subtle shout out to the Buffy fans

5. Why in his flashback does Marshall have a cane? I'd have thought he was injured but he runs away just fine

6. I did actually go to an Esther like show once and I wouldn't recommend it

7. I actually think Marshall and Lily's stripper schoolgirl daughter and Barney's mommy freak are 2 of the most beautiful women they've ever had on the show and that's saying something. Check out how much she looks like Alysson in the wedding scene. That said I don't buy the whole 'strippers have daddy issues' thing, I interviewed a couple once for my degree and they were just very ordinary girls who loved to dance and made a ton of money doing it.

8. Older botoxed Barney is great, we should check out NPH is 20years and see if it's accurate.

All told my favourite ep so far this season

Canning Randy-

Nice to see so many of the recurring characters return, Randy, Dave, Zoey, Becky, Artillery Arthur etc it's like a reunion. We also get to meet Arthur's beloved dog, Tugboat. Love Marshall and Lily's Halloween costumes, as usual they go all out.
Nursie Robin, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....... also nice to see the walk of post Halloween shame, i wonder if that's a real thing?
Must say when Randy gives Marshall his bottle of 'Wharmpis' i thought that's what it really was, trying to get himself fired. Lucky for Marshal it wasn't
Anyone else get the idea that HIMYM is all about selling out as you get older? Barney sells out his ideals to corporate America when Shannon dumps him, Ted designs a GNB building to replace the Arcadia and bullies his class into liking him, Marshall works for GNB rather than saving the gorillas, Lily gives up her hopes of being an artist and Robin gives up her journalistic credibility and does a commercial for adult diapers.
Or is that just growing up?
Then again it's Randy who follows his dream and actually has some success?

I hated Zoe until this episode. the ketchup thing just kinda made me instantly fall in love with her. It was on par with the blue quartet, IMO.

I agree, I just dont like her character and am curious to see how they move from her to who ever the mother will be... plus her character just feels thrown in like the episode of the simpsons when the added poochy to the itchy and scrathy show

Yep. Plus, we know the Mother was an Economics student at Teds college. If by some far out chance Zoey had taken that class, I think she would have brought up the fact that Ted tried to teach it.

Colby Smulders is apparently signing up to play Maria Hill in Avengers. Wouldn't have been my first guess at an actress but I'm excited.

I don't mind Zoey, though if she ends up being the mother, they'll have to do some major writing to have it make sense. Anyway, she's adorable when she's sad.
