So I was just thinking building off Sawyer's idea, they do an episode told from the Mother's perspective telling the kids how she met Ted. They could bring back the original actors for the kid because she could be telling the kids years after Ted told his story. Maybe as the series finale.

Here me out on this one for the Mother casting, it may be very unlikely but I think since the producers are avid fans of Joss Whedon's work like Buffy and Alyson having a connection to his works it could very much happen. I was thinking that they may cast Sarah Michelle Gellar, I know she's probably very busy with her own show on The CW but it's an option. I always thought they would get a big name for the Mother role.

I can't see it. SMG just isn't quite quirky enough for the Mother, as she's been described so far.

Plus if the mother will be a main character in the show's new incarnation SMG wouldn't be able to do it because she already has a show.

this is the writters wish because the pacheck is good. but IMO HIMYM is a combination of good writting and good cast. you take one of it away and its over. you just can not plan on casting a good cast. its all luck.

If they do continue with a season 9 or a spin off after the mother is revealed, I just hope the writers know what they're doing. I don't want this show to get progressively worse like The Office or die a horribe death like Scrubs.

* During February sweeps, Ted will take stock of where he is in his life and what changes he needs to make to find The One (a.k.a. The Mother). “He’s going to come up with what he thinks is the answer, and then we’re going to explore whether it is the right answer for him,” said Bays. “There’s big soul-searching stuff coming up for Ted in Episode 16, 17, and 18.”
* When in doubt about what exactly is transpiring on screen, trust Future Ted. “[He's] a pretty reliable narrator,” said Bays. “People can trust what Bob Saget says.”
* Marshall and Lily’s move to the ‘burbs is “not necessarily a permanent stop,” said fellow EP Craig Thomas. “It’s a real identity crisis when you have a baby, and moving into the suburbs was part of that for Marshall and Lily.”

I'm excited about episodes 16, 17, and 18. I have a feeling it will be related to what Victoria said to Ted at the beginning of the season regarding his relationship with Barney and Robin.

Scrubs didn't die a horrible death. It had a great finale in season 8. I heard that they were going to do a med school series, but that never happened.
