Honestly I hope never, I can’t stand the thought of an actor doing that dumb voice.

I know there’s one or two out now, one with Brendan gleeson I think but I mean now it’s over and done as Oscar bait

Wow ! That would be a great role for Gleeson, a very underrated actor IMO. If the films any good it would almost certainly get him an oscar nod - although he might find the voice tricky, I've never found his American accents that convincing. But he'd have the perfect physical presence for it, and he does amazing deadpan comedy - the Guard is one of my all time favorite comedies.

What would be cool is a Walter Mitty biopic type film about Trump that takes place in both his daydreams - where he believes his own lies, and is making America great and doing more for Black Americans than any other President, and being loved by everyone - and in real life, where he is the worst President in history and his country grows more and more divided as the Covid death toll soars.

The HBO movie with Gleeson was already out a while back.

I’m sure that there’ll be multiple Trump films in the pipeline with the usual suspects to direct them: Oliver Stone, Adam McKay, Aaron Sorkin, etc.

Where were those movies last year? Before two years?
Why no developing movie about police violence?
Where is the big movie which adress abortions?
How long until a movie which critisize the whole election system?

Besides big speeches on oscars, Hollywood is a little bit coward IMO,
they just concentrate about topics already discussed like "War is bad"
or "Racism in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s is bad". I wish they would be
more brave.

I mean, as the Gleason thing has already been pointed out, it’s already too late, but am I alone in not wanting to see that **** and his gang of ****s immortalized in cinema at all?

I'd say there's no way Hollywood aren't going to make several movies about the Trump years. We had a thread a year ago in the politics forum about the inevitable Trump-Ukraine scandal movie with all the castings laid out:

Cast the inevitable Trump-Ukraine scandal movie

I definitely would want John Goodman as Bill Barr.

One actor for Trump I didn't think of at the time would be Thomas F Wilson who played Biff in Back to the Future.

That’s actually pretty spot-on. And he’s already played Trump in Back to the Future: Part II.

Oliver Stone did W pretty early on, and you'd be nuts to think the story or role wouldn't be gold for some actor and director, it's just too juicy.

I wouldn't have minded Jon Voight in the role, but he would never agree to that as he's a Trumper.

And W. was mild mannered as hell compared to Trump. That movie also came out right before the 2008 election when he was still in office.

Probably in about 4-5 years, for both about Trump and the pandemic. It took about 10 years after Cheney left office to get Vice but I think Hollywood has gotten more impatient. Although with the pandemic that could be considered more controversial and distasteful.

Oliver Stone would very likely be the only one to actually make a good movie (and he would be willing to if not maybe prefer to do so with a medium budget) but a lot of mediocre writers/directors would want to do so too.

I genuinely want to see Alec Baldwin continuing to play Trump. I mean, I know he's been playing the role for comedy on SNL, but I also believe that he could easily shift gears to play Trump more seriously. He's a legitimately good dramatic actor too, which has been kinda easy to forget. ;)

I'm all for it if it resembles the Scary Movie theme where his character is the butt of all jokes.

I just feel the need to point it out for those that haven't seen it, but the Gleeson one isn't actually about Trump. It is about James Comey and the FBI. Trump doesn't even appear on-screen until the second half. I think it is worth watching, but I don't want anyone to get disappointed by expecting something completely different from what it is.

Oliver Stone directing a Trump movie starring Christian Bale.

The Academy will soil itself instantaneously.

As someone who hates biopics about ridiculously famous people, I hope the answer is never.
