How long until Spiderman 3 will be good?

My guess if these three movies withstand the test of ****ty sequels (with a different cast and crew) Sony will throw at it, kids today will grow up loving it as will kids of generations after and within ten years it will be accepted as one of the great Spidey movies, kind of like ROTJ is accepted as one of the great Star Wars movies, Temple of Doom as one of the great Indiana Jones movies, and the BTTF sequels being as beloved as the original, when upon initial releases they were met with disappointment by fans and critics and are admittedly below the quality of the rest of each's perspective franchise, but people under the age of 25 grew up loving them all.

So too will be what happens to SM3, in my humble opinion.

Hmm...I never thought of it like that. Good point.

3.1 should make it marginally better but it'll never be what it was in the teaser...

Agreed.

Like I said before, I am a fan of Spider-Man 3, but it didn't deliver like it had promised. The teaser trailer was freaking EPIC. It's too bad the movie didn't pack the same punch that the teaser did.

Well, I'm 22 and I don't care for any of your examples, so I don't think your theory carries much weight universally.

And I didn't like Temple of Doom, nor do I care much for BTTF2, what's your point?

They are generally overall liked and considered "CLASSICS" or accepted with the rest of the trilogy. I've met plenty of people who adore Temple of Doom because they grew up with it. It is technically the worst of the three, but you can't argue with nostolgia that they grew up with. Try arguing to the average moviegoer now the Ewoks are stupid. They'll shrug and write you off as a fanboy (which you probably are if you ever take the time to make a real discussion out of that).

Those movies are accepted as good parts of their series as opposed to say...Jaws.

My point was just what I said - you assumed that people under the age of 25 would like the films they were exposed to during their childhood. I’m one of those people and I don’t care for most of the stuff I watched during my youth because I grew up and developed a taste that doesn’t rely on the bias of nostalgia.
Clearly your assumption cannot speak for everybody.

Other than that just because a movie becomes a 'classic' over time doesn't mean I suddenly should care or respect it.
I'm not concerned with popular opinion. Spider-Man 3 is good enough now.
:yay:

I never said you would. I said MANY as in many, not all. I grew up with the Indiana Jones movies and do not like Temple of Doom, but it is very popular with people who did grow up with it. I grew up with the Ewoks and they made sense to me for a much longer time before I became analytical about film and saw their problems. I did not say all, there are exceptions to everything, I was just saying those movies are GENERALLy (as in most people) accepted by younger generations, not that there is a consensus meeting every year to discuss their feelings on it.

I'm probably in the small minority, but I think Spider-Man 3 is the best of the series.
Its edgy to me and Raimi did some new things with the Spidey character that really surprised me.
He could've just rehashed the same stuff he was doing in the first 2, but he decided to do some different things.
Obviously, a lot of people thought those thingswere stupid (like the dancing Spidey scenes).
But.........I don't know...........I liked it.

But then again, Temple of Doom is my favorite Indiana Jones movie to watch, so that probably eliminates my opinion to a lot of people.:woot:

When I was a kid, we ALL thought that Jedi was the best. I see the problem with it now, though I still like it. What he's saying is that in ten years, new fans will GENERALLY probably like Spiderman 3, having been exposed to it at a time when there will be zero hype for it, whereas maybe Jaws 3-D and Jurassic Park 3 will be considered not that good to anyone.

Ur mom was pretty hilarious last nigh!

ooooooooooooo. :p

^ Dude, how old are you? I suppose it doesn't matter anyway with it being 2008 - And you are still using mom jokes. lol - self pawnage i say!

Enough of you.

Like DaCrowe said Spidey 3 will be loved in the future. I love it right now. Maybe the dancing scenes being cut out with more character time for Venom & Sandman.

I loved it. But yeah, I'm joining the long line of people waiting for the inevitable 3.1. The movie itself was heavily edited, everyone I talked to agreed. So we'll see what happens.

Although I would like to see the harry/MJ & peter dancing scenes removed from SM3.1, w/o them the movie would be pretty dark: Harry & Brock die, MJ & Peter are a mess at the end, Sandman leaves in a melancholy {?} way.... it would be similar to SW Empire & Sith...tragedy and no finality.... those edits plus the deleted scenes hopefully will make SM3.1 a great movie...

Removing the dancing scenes wouldnt fix anything. The problems with SM3 can't be fixed by taking more out, and arent going to be fixed by putting deleted scenes that dont exist back in. The symbiote falls from space BAM, Marko falls into a sandman making experiment BAM, Eddie is Venom BAM, the night your father died BAM. Nothing is going to help digest all that, only manipulation of ones mind and the healing power of time can fix it. Thats what this thread is all about.

Besides, removing the dancing in the street scene just does harm to the impact of the MJ ***** slap.

I'm just trying to make Spiderman 3 a better movie. What are you doing to help the community?

Usually, what's crap in the past is crap in the present and will continue to be crap in the future. The spidey movies are of no exception to this rule.

Well you should at least read to people with disabled eyes or teach minority kids not to steal. We all have to chip in.

Minority kids not to steal??? Bro, corporations and bureaucratic cu*ts (i.e. the white man) are the real thieves of this world, pilfering from both the rich and the poor...and if you don't want to sound like an ignorant idiot again, try not to associate and generalise all minorities as thieves.
