How Many of you Actually Read Comics???

What's the newest comic you've read? Just curious.
I still buy Wizard magazine because I'm entertained by hearing geeks talk all "life and death" about dorky things, so I've followed most of the major developments.

As far as reading an actual comic, I've picked them up and read a few pages, for instance, when someone in Wizard says "BlaBlaBla is amazing!", I've picked it up to see if it's true, and, it never is.
But as for actually reading the whole thing, one payday I got into a "read a whole run" mood, so I bought the Identity Crisis thing collected in book form.

I once picked up some Ultimate Spider-Man's and almost vomited.
The entire Ultimate thing was just like watching your friendly neighbor rape your old girlfriend. :(

what are these "comics" you speak of?

IC was overrated overhyped crap. :o

I haven't read any Ultimate books, so I'll just take your word for it.

The Ultimates was super duper.

Also, Wil read Preacher.

I re-read comics from the glory days before they began coloring them with computers.
That's not why they suck now of course, but that marks the begining of the time that they became unreadable.
I don't think they suck now. I like them a lot more now. I tried to read the old stuff and, while it appealed to me as a kid, it doesn't work for me any more. I think today's comics have so much more to offer than those of years prior. But I do understand where you are coming from. A lot of people like what they know.

I still buy Wizard magazine...
That's your problem right there. Wizard just an entertainment mag, like People. They have deep pockets and promote whatever a company like DC or Marvel hypes.

Reading Wizard Magazine to get advice on what comics to read is like watching Entertainment Tonight to get figure out what movies to watch.

:(

**Laughs heaftily before looking around to make sure no attention was drawn :woot: :ninja:**

Did you like Identity Crisis?

That's your problem right there.

Reading Wizard Magazine to get advice on what comics to read is like watching Entertainment Tonight to get figure out what movies to watch.
That's correct.
I don't read it for advice. I read it to marvel at geekdom, same reason one of my top 10 movies ever is "Trekkies" and a contributing factor in my lengthy stay at the Hype.

I second that. Books like Y: The Last Man or Fables really reach for the creative, and offer the kind of stories you aren't expecting from comics (compared to the old days).

I kind of agree. I mean I hated Ultimate Spider-Man, but you lost me on the whole raping your girlfriend thing. The only Ultimate title I like is the Ultimates. Can't wait for Ultimates 3.

Yeah, they cover up naked people with those annoying pastel banners!? :down :cmad:

Just read Walking Dead. It's what George A Romero's Dead trilogy should've been.

i love comics...got almost as much tpb's as comics...
im an Amazing Spider-Man Subscriber

I don't read comics, haven't since I was a kid. I did buy Batman: Year One but never read it.

Ohhh.....I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. :csad:

Ed McGuinness = Draw everyone like a wrestler :down

Also the end of Ultimates 2 was utter s**t.
