Im just wondering, if the humor will be like Darknight(very little, except for the Joker)or like Iron Man(lots of humor)....for me im hoping its in between, what do you guys and gals think?

I really hope it's not like The Dark Knight, because the humor in Nolan's Batman movies so far have been pretty lame.

yea me to, i just hope they dont go overboard..i.e tranformers, star trek for me is perfect

If it had Mxy in it-or even Bizzaro-I would've wanted it to be hilariously funny. Otherwise, I want it to be witty and charming, not outright humourous.

Dear Mr. Snyder.....please see "Star Trek" for reference on how the humor should be handled in this Superman film. thank you!

Actually I like the humor in Batman Begins/The Dark Knight...it's sharp and witty and it doesn't completely cut the tension from the serious stuff.
A few good ones:

Alfred Pennyworth: I suppose they'll lock me up as well. As your accomplice...
Bruce Wayne: Accomplice? I'm going to tell them the whole thing was your idea.

Bruce Wayne: What about getting back into the plane?
Lucius Fox: I'd recommend a good travel agent.
Bruce Wayne: Without it landing.
Lucius Fox: [smiles] Now that's more like it, Mr. Wayne.

Lucius Fox: Let me get this straight: You think that your client, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands. And your plan is to blackmail this person? Good luck.

I didn't like the humor in Superman Returns which ranged from lame to demented:

Having one of the dogs eat the other, or suggest Lex wants to eat the surviving dog.
How was that funny? It's more disturbing...

Lois: "I've done Superman already."
Really?

Rest of the humor was taken from Superman: The Movie

The actually humorous bickering in BB/TDK is brilliant. The one-liners are lame most of the time, especially in BB.

I thought some of the subtle stuff in SR was okay, like when Richard asked Lois how tall she would say Clark is, or Clark popping in when Lois, Perry and Jimmy are looking at the picture.

I don't need much more. I'm all for it as long as it's funny but not a necessity for me, at least not for the first one. Bust out a great flick to re-ignite the franchise and take a few liberties in the sequel if you'd like.

I agree with DF, they did a really good job of making sure there was humor in Star Trek but it never overshadowed the story or the action.

I don't think Superman needs to have humor... Why is it that it is so necessary for comic book fans to have humor in their movies? I don't get it... no one hears about a movie being made about... whatever, malcolm x, jesus, or the town, the hurt locker, se7en, w/e and think about what humorous parts there will be in the movie... I don't really understand what humor has to do with any movie unless its a comedy... if i want a humorous movie, i'll go see a comedy... a lot of action, good story and great effects with great dialogue make a movie good... what do i care if theres something funny in the movie? that probably wont make me enjoy it more

I would say a little more than TDK. Tony Stark is a silly guy so it makes sense that there is a lot of humor. I don't think of Superman as a silly guy. Maybe something similar to the spider-man movies.

It's going to be like TDK/Batman Begins.

Same writers.

Dry sarcastic and witty humor.

i liked some of the stuff in watchmen like nite owl telling SSII about Rorschach throwing that guy down an elevator shaft

dark humor is always fun

the spider-man movies had TOO much humor, and the music accentuating every humorous situation makes it even worse, more corny and cheesier and campier than it needs to be... if it had humor but at least the music didn't sound as dumb and campy and cartoony when a humorous moment takes place, then it might be better...

I thought the Spider-Man movies weren't funny enough. I wanted more wisecracking Spidey.

For Superman, the best sources of humor is the supporting cast-Lois, Perry, Jimmy, Steve Lombard if they were to use him. I'm not a fan of the slapstick Chris Reeve Clark, so to me the funny moments with Clark is when he does stuff like punking Steve Lombard. Because if any of us had Superman's powers, I'm sure we couldn't resist putting a jerk like Lombard in his place.

i like when Supes was about to make his first appearance in Birthright, and just before he does he says to himself,"ok Clark...dont screw this up"......not laugh out loud funny but, gives you a chuckle....and makes me him relatable as well...:yay:

Something similar to TDK's humor would be fine.

I know. But I think it's been like that in like every modern superhero movie. Raimi's Spider-movies were no exception. But yes, Goyer doesn't know what funny is. I bet this movie will have more jokes than necessary and few of them will worth the while. I pray that Snyder will cut them out.

Some comedic relief would be nice. The mainstream doesn't want to sit through 2 hours of serious storytelling. Give Lois and Jimmy funny moments. Maybe even Lex a couple.

Well I always find with Superman alot of the humor comes from the Daily Planet antics and generally the mild mannered C.K persona in the newsroom against all the other people.

I always love the humor between Clark and Lois as well as Clark and Jimmy. It's people like them that keep Clark human and grounded, especially Lois since she's his link to humanity and can remind him to laugh every once in a while.

I want to see Clark using his superpowers like on Lois and Clark. He uses heat vision discreetly and turns and whistles for example. Clark might look around to see if someone is watching, then heat up his coffee. Those type of gags are fun for Superman.

This is one of the reasons I really hope the film is, at least partially, based on Birthright. That story had such a good mix of humor, drama and action (and a GIANT SPIDER!)... it was damn near flawless in its execution, other than Clark's Elvis sideburns.
