Jesus, you people start working pretty early. I was 19 when I started working for a PR firm but I don't think it was a job-job since I got paid like once every two months and even then it wasn't a lot of money. I mostly did it for the experience.
My first job-job came when I was 20 and I had a desk and everything, got paid every month. It was cool and easy to do (press monitoring), but boring as hell.

Thats what happens when your mother feeds you, and then when you ask her where hers is, she says she'll have it later. You then catch her eating the scraps off your own plate and drinking a lot of water to try and stop the hunger pangs.

Taking a few coins a week on a market stall was nothing compared to the look on my mother's face when I came home with a loaf of bread and a few cans of beans.

Great start to 2007

Anyways I got my first job when I was 17. Worked for a landscaping company. Got fired 2 weeks later, because I couldn't work 60-hour weeks and maintain good grades in school. (Idiots...)

Turned 18 three months later, got hired at the new Dunham's Sports store a month after. Been working there ever since

Man, fifteen years flies by like nothing, eh Lucas?

jag

17. A week after graduating from high school.

Surrrrrre....

I'm 19. You get points for hysterics, though, jag.

I was 12. I was a paper carrier delivering the daily paper to homes. With my first paycheck, I bought my NES.

decided to take a poll on this question. being 21 and have'nt worked yet, really makes me abit nervous that im not going to qualify for any jobs later on in my life. school was always a big focus for me, but I've seen people go to school and have a job. and i think to myself why can't i do that?! i guess i did'nt want to take any chances on failing any classes and it really made me nervous alot.

so i wanted toask you guys on the hype this question.
you're 21 and you've never had a job? Must be nice.

I wish I was a noob again.:(

Hey, lil' bro. Not me; would not want to go through n00b growing pains again

I was 15 when I did my first paid job: I worked as a barman in one of those summer parks... not bad, good money and good experience.

You really did not have to go through this whole guilt trip. I live in Romania and although I never had to suffer from hunger or poverty, I see it all around me.
There's nothing wrong with starting to work at 14 or 15, just as there's nothing wrong with starting to work at 19 or past your 20's, as long as you don't neglect your education.
There is something very wrong however with the way resources are divided in the world.
