Do you love or hate your job?

I'm around the Glastonbury area, how about you?

Seems to be some good news happening about that interview people!
Didn't get that job but they said they would like me in a different role and will phone me in the near future. Fingers crossed!

I'm a Minehead girl, but my god I can't wait to take the move to Bristol. If all goes to plan i'll be there before September this year. Just waiting for some finances to come through.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too!

Update on my job: My colleague is now in hospital and has been for 2 weeks... and it looks like she may be off for a while (they told her to cancel he wedding in May). So I am now on my own for 99% of the day other than the occasional visits I get from my boss.

I'm kind of liking it actually, I have to say. When there's someone else there, theres a little bit of pressure to look like you're doing something. Now I can just do nothing guilt free! I serve anyone who walks in (some days that's quite a few, others there are like 2 people all day) obviously, but when it comes to making sales calls, it just simply doesn't take all that long to finish them. So I have a lot of free time!

I've been doing A LOT of reading! :)

So far the only job that I've enjoyed was working security for a large tech company. They moved out of the building and all the employees were relocated and the building was left empty. However, they kept security on and didn't know how long they'd need us. Turns out the building remained empty for about another year and a half. On top of that the company didn't know how long we'd be needed so they were giving us special payment for keeping tabs on the building. So I was making like 18 bucks an hour to hang out in an empty building for 8 hours a day, and sometimes 12 hours when someone called off. I got to hang out watching movies, listening to music, working on my comic/writing projects, and got freakin' paid for it...very well too! Unfortunately the company who was in charge of selling the building took control and they fired out security company. Got laid off but it was a great ride and was mainly hoping that they could have gotten new clients for the building because I would have been in line to be the supervisor and make like 24 to 26 bucks an hour. It was not to be.

The job I hate is the current job that I'm doing now. I work for FedEx doing customer service. So, basically I sit in a cubicle taking phone calls all day long and generally you take about 100 to 120 phone calls a day depending on how quickly you get through them and the types of problems that you have. The only thing I've mainly learned from this job is that shipping a package is REALLY simple. People who are already stupid trying to do a menial task makes my job a living hell. I truly hate being on the phone but I'm doing this to pay my dues so that I can get a better job in the company. It's really easy to progress in FedEx and if I play my cards right in about 2 to 3 months I should be in a cushy tech job in the company where I don't have to EVER be on the phone again! :woot:

Im a patient transporter at a hospital here in Las Vegas. I love my job!!! There are some rough times though, like when other transporters call out and the hospital doesnt try to call anyone in to work for them. My work then doubles for the night with no extra pay.

Tell us mooooooore! :woot:

I'm a Firefighter/Paramedic. I've had plenty of jobs prior to this one...everything from a bag boy at a supermarket, to an office/desk job working for insurance to a sales associate with Home Depot. Nothing really compares to the job I have now. It's not for everyone though but I think for someone to be happy with their employment it has to be something you are ultimately passionate about. Of course there are days I don't feel like going to work as I'm sure everyone does. One thing is for sure...at my job, there is no such thing as a 'case of the Mondays.'

I love my job a lot. Its very interesting, little hectic and learning too.

I love my job, dealing blackjack and roulette. I just wish my livelihood wasn't so dependent on the ups and downs of a rollercoaster economy.

Really enjoying my new job :)

I'm service controlling refrigeration engineers. I don't think it's for everybody, and I don't wanna do it forever, but it's a really decent job.

Everyone in the call centre is really cool (including bosses) and I've made a lot of fast friends. The work itself can be slow or incredibly fast paced and challenging. And it's just nice getting a rapour going with the people your calling on a daily basis, chatting about their diets and movies you've seen when you have time :)

Must be doing well too, as I've been here two months on a temporary three month contract and they have already offered me a permanent position and given me keys and trusted me to train someone else up! :)

Just got a new one and hopefully I'll like it. It seems pretty sweet from what I know so far but ultimately the proof's in the pudding as they say. Never had a job I loved. Loving a job seem so alien to me. I have had jobs that were alright and several I've hated. But this new job on paper seems like it could be the best one I've ever had.

I work at a thrift store where I basically do the heavy lifting/cleaning up. I enjoy it aside from my store manager who has no idea how to deal with people as employees. She tends to deal with us as numbers and gets mad when we don't just do everything as she wants.

Besides that, I get paid to basically work out all day. I'm in much better shape than I was when I started and I am a lot stronger as well. The job also leaves me time to work on my books. I barely deal with customers and sometimes goes hours without seeing more than a few at a time.

I've had several high stress jobs in the past where I was constantly under pressure to either work 10-14 hours a day in a bakery where they had no idea how to manage the workload or in a call center where stats were everything. Now, the job is just get to work, do whats needed then head home. It's really damn easy compared to those.

I've had a few supervisors ask if I wanted to be promoted but having to deal with the **** they deal with on a regular basis is not my thing.

Let me holla.

Ha! I've done the same thing at a few jobs. Sitting in a cushy, relatively stress fee gig and get offered a stress-filled promotion? I'm good right where I am, thanks!

I'm unemployed for the last 4 years.....it's not bad, but it pays like crap.

The best i had was my first one, at a mall cinema 10 as a usher.
I watched movies for free, i didn't had a working position which means i walked freely anywhere i wanted, my co-workers were a blast, sometimes it seemed i worked in a real-life soap-opera with all the romances going on (which i was involved myself some of the times), i eat for free...i stayed there for 4 years or so.

After that, all my job were in call centers.
Phone company...Gas company...Cable tv, by that order.....but by far the worst was for the Gas company, which i only stayed for 4 months (it was crap, i picked fights with my supervisor all the time, the girl was a moron).
All were inbound, they called me, i didn't called them.

Same here, but i never liked the jobs enough for deal with it at a stress level.
For me to stress about it, i need to like it.

Depends if my boss wants to work with me or not.

I knew somebody had to revive this thing if their current job sucked balls.

I revived it. Been out of (real)work since 2014 and now I'm back in it and happy as a clam. Time to make some fat stacks.

i like my job, don't like the people i work for

I have two jobs. Hate one, love one. Unfortunately, the one I love doesn't give me enough money/hours to quit the one I hate, lol. But at least I like the people I work with at both.

Love my job. For the last 11 years I've met Stars, Guarded Prescreenings and Movie Hardrives, worked sites where it's basically making sure nothing starts fire almost like being at home.
My one complaint would be having to walk or stand more than 8 hours every now and then
