In a variety of ways. Obviously a type of blur effect. But i'd like to see more creative ways. Like have him holding a conversation with someone, time freezes, we see him go do whatever, disarm a bomb, save someone etc, then come back to the conversation in the place he left it.

Well that all depends on his power levels doesn't it. I am all for him moving fast with a blur or having things stop around him and him moving normal like Clark in Smallville. However, all that will depend on his power levels.

I just hope that when they show him running it's not that feaux running where he is barely kicking his feet and moving fast like in the old tv show or sheldon in the big bang theory.

Actually, make it look like he is running.

In Sonic the hedgehog, I like the field that sometimes shows when he is running and also aspects of his homing attack, like the trail it leaves, would be cool.

I want him to start off supersonic, then eventually tap into the Speed Force and become truly FTL. He needs to stand out and seeing as superspeed is his thing, he must be quicker than Supes, Wonder Woman etc.

I really hope they'll occasionally use the vanishing effect like in this Gaara vs Rock Lee fight. Not only would it look awesome, but it would probably be really cheap on the budget too. As you just have to film him vanishing, and again when he shows up to deliver a punch. Or you can just show the impact of his hits.

This is one of the aspects they have to get right, it must not look cheap or there would be no point in this show.

It is kind of a staple in anime, moving in the blink of an eye.

I really think they should try to look at Anime in general, to get a good idea of how to portray super speed. Snyder's Faora with her flash steps, already seemed Anime influenced to me.

What makes Flash different is that he uses the speed force rather than his strength for super speed.

The visuals should be about getting that across.

This is where my idea for an aura surrounding him like Sonic can convey. For the movement that is like in the anime or Faora they could leave a bright red and yellow afterimage or flash. I think this actually is why a darker suit is best, the colours of the speed force could be the same as his classic suit and it would stand out because it is brighter.

A mix would be good. Doing mundane things they could just have a freeze time thing, him moving around while things are either stand still or extremely slowly moving. Messing with people or just doing things out of sight cut be done with a camera cut away and just show the effects. The fights should be frantic and fast paced with some sort of aura/energy flickering about. They could take cues from the 90's show, it did well with effects like that.

I like the blur effects from this one, where it looks like space/time is warping behind her. Based on the leaked set video, I'm assuming they'll use the footage of him running and make it look like the background is blurred and slowed down, kind of like the scene I linked.

I think that No Ordinary Family and Smallville would be good examples on what they can pull off on a TV budget these days. The 1990 Flash show has some surprisingly decent effects, but its funny to see people in the background trying to stay still for fast-forwarded footage when the Flash is moving at super speed.

In the Flashpoint Paradox they nailed the speed animation to a tee
That kind should be applied, including the wall run

The DVD commentary compared the "final run" on Flashpoint to the "final swing" that Spider-Man performs at the end of his movies.

I'm thinking that the Pilot will have a "final run" like the one on Flashpoint.

Ahaha yeah, I remember that fight. That would rock so hard.

Also I don't care how fast he moves I'll always want to see him actually run. His body really make the movements of someone sprinting.

I think they'll do it in a variety of ways. Whether slowing everything down around Barry, adding the "Flash" graphic lines of his movement, a bunch of CGI, etc.

Whatever the scene calls for and what would be most effective.

He should move like this in some scenes, but in red and yellow.

The best thing is to do different effects for different aspects of his speed. I would also love to see him run up a building at least once.

God that was amazing. They display super speed so well in Anime.

I'd like to see a variety of ways.

And it'd be really cool to see something like this again at some point...
