Since Man of Steel (2013) started off the universe it definitely looked like the DCEU was in good hands. However, with 2 films in my opinion which were mediocre that being Batman vs Superman (2016) and Suicide Squad (2016) you would have thought that the DCEU would be given up for dead.

Then after Wonder Woman (2017) you can say that the DCEU is back on the right track as far as good films go but how do we keep that momentum going for the DCEU?

Well in my opinion how I would go about it:

- Setting the right emotional tone/heart for the film by of course making sure that a great story is written (ie. staying close to the comic (source) material however only up to a certain point and then a little bit of tweaking here and there)

- Casting choices definitely have to be on point for sure
- Not giving away too much too soon as far as promotional stake goes (ie. not giving away too much in a teaser trailer but just enough that you basically let the fans' minds wander)

- Of course having the right director for the film
- Cinematography and CGI definitely needs to be on point

I think they've found what works with Wonder Woman. Make strong, understandable central protagonists that we want to cheer for. JL seems to be in all sorts of production turmoil so hard to say what happens there, but they should definitely follow the Wonder Woman model going forward.

Right now I do think things look a lot brighter for the future of the DCEU than they did at this time last year.

Yeah I know right and if they keep the Wonder Woman model for the rest of the upcoming films coming up like:

- Justice League (2017)
- Aquaman (2018)
- Shazam (2019)
- Cyborg (2020)
- Green Lantern Corps (2020)

And so on and so forth for future films then I think the DCEU will be just fine

Aquaman and the Flash look like they'll be more in Diana's mode, so I think WW's momentum has a good chance of being carried forward.

Follow Wonder Woman's model. Insert emotion and drama but don't be afraid to have levity and humor. Balance is important. I have a lot hope for Aquaman and the future projects. Justice League is a huge question mark right now but at the very least I hope the characters shine in an otherwise potentially mediocre movie.

Then it begs the question of if they keep the same model for films like Cyborg, Green Lantern reboot, Suicide Squad sequel, Justice League sequel, Batman solo, Shazam and or if they decide to have more films in the DCEU for other characters such as a Superman sequel, Green Arrow solo if they decide to do one

I'm already preparing myself for JL being a disaster but, as we've seen with WW, one good movie can save the reputation of a floundering extended universe. Aquaman and the Flash could potentially play WW to JL's BVS.

But what they should have done is set the tone with a Superman sequel first rather than even making a BVS film to begin with...they should have just made Man of Steel 2 with Bruce Wayne/Batman showing up either in a mid-credits scene or a post-credit scene to build towards either his own film or to build towards his own solo film

Now that, that right there would have been the proper way to go about it

Make better movies, like Wonder Woman. Preferably by directors not named Snyder. Also, no last minute recuts by trailer studios.

That's simplified, I admit, but it pretty much covers what they need to do in essence.

^This, exactly.

Live and learn. Often we learn more from our failures than we do from our success. If BvS and SS hadn't been so poorly received, maybe getting a 55% score instead, like Man of Steel, then Wonder Woman might
not have been so lauded and WB would continue to make mediocre movies because there would have been no incentive to try to do better next time. I imagine Universal learned a few things after The Mummy.

I've never once been concerned about the DCEU. I'll only become so when I see a string of costly clunkers. We've witnessed a decade where only 1 of 4 Transformer films could even muster mixed reviews, yet we're on the cusp of film #5. As long as WB is making money, the embrace of the critics isn't necessary. It's nice, of course, but it isn't essential.

Yeah, Shazam, Cyborg will probably not be made or pushed back. Be kinda surprised if GLC gets made for 2020.

I'm pretty sure at least half of the announced movies will be cancelled. They announced a *lot* of movies, far ahead of their actual progression.

I wanted Snyder's Superman trilogy, not gonna happen. I think general audience will love the new movies like they loved WW but for me, the fun is over. I loved Snyder's take on the material. Now we'll get more "course corrected" films, which is something I'm not interested in. Still hope Wan can do something interesting with Aquaman.

From what I have read Batgirl seems to be the one most likely to start filming next with WB aiming for a 2018 release.

What's happening with The Flash?

Pretty obvious the Batman is definitely happening and so will several other projects. The DCEU is alive and it was never even close to been dead!

There's a chance to build off WW's success with Wan on Aquaman and Reeves on Batman. If JL can surprise us than you might finally have some momentum.
