Just saw the trailer today and WOW!!!! It looks so much better than the first and the first was one of the best movies I have ever seen. The textures are fantastic.

Having seen what Hiccup and Astrid look like as older teenagers, I'm really curious to see what the rest of the kids from the first movie look like now.

Did anybody ever say how old they were in the first movie? My guess was around 14-15.

I saw it yesterday. It's such a beautiful film. Dreamworks are really doing amazing things in animation.

The only problem I had was I still don't really like astrid. She's so obviously meant to tap into the feminist demographic and there's nothing wrong with that but she's still so dull and one note. Hiccups mum was awesome though. Cate obviously was very inspired by jane Goodall.

Can't wait for how to train your dragon 3!

Overrated.

The first one was excellent. Saw it for the first time last week.

This one however unfortunately had a pretty thin story. Toothless was still cute though.

It was a good solid movie. I got misty eyed a couple times, they pushed a couple borders and really expanded on their themes well. It'll be interesting to see if/how they wrangle a How to Train Your Dragon 3.

The Dragon series is so strange when it comes to the box office. Maybe like with the first film, it'll have legs to make a huge profit. But why didn't the film open even bigger though? The first one got popular through WOM, and after time, became a pop culture mainstay. So why is the sequel following in the same footsteps?

It's definitely odd, however if it has legs like the last one, that might end up explaining itself.

I personally don't think it's a strong and fun as the original, I see it maybe falling short.

Got to take my toddler to see this the other day, we had a fun time. We haven't seen the first movie but that didn't take a way from the sequel, and I think we will go back and check that movie out now. I forgot Jay Baruchel was the main voice actor, I enjoy watching that dude.

It's not showing early signs of legs, it dropped nearly 50% from opening weekend, the first one only dropped -33.7%.
If I had to guess I'd say this one ends up in the 160-175m range.

I like this movie, it was a bit of a let down that [BLACKOUT]the father was killed off right after he was reunited with his wife.[/BLACKOUT] This probably is the reason the movie is not doing so well at the box office. People want happy endings! Another reason could be[BLACKOUT] that the mother abandoning her baby, instead to protect dragons, which is not how a real women would react![/BLACKOUT]

If Dreamworks continues down this path of producing duds they'll be forced to shut down!!!

At this point I think it's all about release date. These studios try to release all their big movies in the Summer instead of getting creative with release dates.
