How would you like it if War Zone was filmed in B & W?

This would certainly silence the mewling fanboys *****ing about all the color in the teaser.

More importantly, I think it would fit the character. Frank's colors are black and white, life and death.

Imagine a black and while Punisher movie...an alley way remains enshrouded in darkness until a light appears...the Punisher's deaths head sign.

I think this would make for a great looking film.

Maybe an optional B&W version on the DVD, like The Mist?

lol... I actually like the colours in the new film... but why would you even need to film in Black and White? DVD players and TVs have settings where you can change the output to black and white anyway. If you are that desperate (I feel bad for you if you are), just set it to B&W.

Maybe some desaturation in some bits, but overall, I like the colour scheme of the film. It echoes the colours of the MAX comics. It's interesting to see.

It's not like it's sugary sweet eye ball mauling ala Speed Racer. It still gives a good and very dark look to the film.

I'm not sure what's so damn funny, Canadian.

You would need to film the movie in black and white to make the film a black and white movie.

I'm not saying I don't like the colors of the film. In fact, the colors don't bother me at all.

What I'm saying is that I think The Punisher would work as a black and white film.

And I'm neither desperate, nor in need of your "pity."

Uh... alright, congrats. :whatever:

I apologize if you were offended, I didn't really mean it like that.

Maybe you should ease back on the rage there. :bh:

Uh oh, he called you a Canadian! You should totally ***** slap that fool with your hockey stick!

I'd totally do it to if my hockey stick hadn't broken in half the last time I broke a fool's jaw. I'd use my spares, but... he just ain't worth it. A hockey stick is a sacred symbol. It's used in place of the Holy Cross here in Canada.

If they were going the Taxi Driver/noir route that Jane wanted to go, B&W would definitely have been cool, but for this movie no.

I don't care if they are going off the digital coloring in the comic, I don't like it. But, if like Arsh suggested they desaturated it a little more so it doesn't look as garish it may work better.

I've only ever desaturated Romero movies, to give it the classic feel.

It took a Canadian to tell you that this would be a bad idea???

You can't just desaturate it, it'd require filters, editing... you'd probably also want to light it a certain way to make sure it turned out right. A black&white option wouldn't work without a lot of effort, and a full-on B&W movie would draw too many parallels to Sin City, obviously.

The director of cinematography has the PWZ trailer up at his site, but the colours are a bit different... check it out:

Or is that just the stream's fault?

Better? Worse?

It's the stream. Just the brightness/contrast is different.
