I became a Storm fan for the TAS cartoon. That's my favorite version of Storm. I loved her accent, I loved her powers, and the way she commanded the elements when using them. She had the most balanced personally of all the X-men:the mother figure out of fights and psycho weather goddess during battle. She kept the team calm when things got tough. She is underused a lot sometimes, but she was one of the best characters. I loved that staff fight she had with Callisto, it just showed how much of a good fighter she was without her powers and made her even cooler. I can't wait to see that Storm in X3!!!

^^ aGREED. I loved the way she always was in control with her powers.

my first issue of X-men was 209. She was the team leader and I have been reading ever since. She was that example of someone growing up. She went from the meekest member of the team to it's leader.

cartoon-->comics-->movie [what little if any]. ther movies [x1 & x2] totally shafted storm and her fanz. but anywho, it was mostly the character's tie to nature, awesome power and look that i became a fan.

my fav characters are: storm & misty knigt..thas about it :p

For me it started with the cartoon, even though I wish it would have started with the comic. I live in Israel, and comics isn't a very big thing here(well, it is, but nobody really knows about it), and when I was young I used to see the cartoon and I loved it. I first "fell in love" with the idea of mutants and the X-Men, and then I started really getting interested in Storm. She had a commanding and unique presence, and I found her powers to be very unique and intriguing(I also love the winter in all its forms, so it must have contributed).
When I grew up I started reading about her online and learning more and more about her powers and history. After the movies showed up, and X-Men Legends arrived I finally got into the comics, which made me love her even more(especially during CC's first run in Uncanny X).

hey everyone new to the board and I am a big Storm fan. My first memory of her is the cartoon "rain and wind heed my command" and then I was hooked for life! i began reading and collecting comics mostly b/c of her. Today i am not so happy with the turn she has taken in the comics but that's still my girl,if i close my eyes and count to 100 maybe the marvel world will return to what it was years ago and Storm could fianlly get a chance to :bomb: for real!

........ you want her to explode for real?

I can understand being disappointed with how boring she's been written these past few years, but come on.

I meant to blow up in the way someone like wonder woman has. Even if you don't follow the story lines or anything like that she was and still is an icon. I wish something like that could happen for storm. I used to think that maybe it could. I thought that as the world changed she could kind of get out of the box that the writers seemed to always place her in and give her a chance to really come into her own. Out of all of the other x-women she always seemed to have more of a chance for that then the others. Now I am not so sure.she just seems like she is just going to go off and have a bunch of kids. I just don't think that they will write her as being strong and independent any longer. Now that she is going to be a wife to a King or whatever I think they may give more attention to that as opposed to her. I just wish that they would have taken the time to really write more for her as a woman instead of as a leader all the time. Jean always got a lot of time for romance and so did Rogue. Besty has always had a little time to shine also as far a personal relationships too. With Storm we got Forge and lots of hints but nothing ever set in stone. It's like they just reached back pulled this dude from nowhere and gave her a mate.

They should turn her into a villain.

Seriously, I always though she'd rock as one of the Marvel Mad Women(Wanda, Dark Phoenix...). Have her kill and destroy :D

not a bad idea! But it could only be in the short term for me, I don't think I could handle evil Storm forever. It would give us a chance to to see her in a diffrent light and maybe they would finally take her powers to the ultimate level at last.

She should have a villain saga.. That would rock!

They would totally power her up and make her a cosmic threat(like they did with the other MMW's[Jean became Dark Phoenix, Wanda's powers got "upgraded" into reality control]), and use her bottled emotions as a trigger to make her insane.

Already been done with Rogue Storm. UXM 147? or something. Its so similar to the Dark Phoenix transformation that even the characters comment on it, and Storms memory of that story and Jean's fate leads to her powering down.

I'm talkin' about a real saga, not a three issue storyline!

Make her a true threat to the world, up her powers so that she'll be one(like all of the MMW's powers were upgraded), and make her death/fall a truly awesome one.

And yeah, it was UXM 145-147
:)

Exactly! Not no 3 to 4 pages of being evil and not doing anything! I'm talking about a BIG THREAT! I bet nobody can tell me when she was REALLY a threat to the planet?

Then they would have to kill her...and you Storm fans would never stop whining.

She was a real threat the planet in Uncanny 459, like what six months ago?? I've been rooting for a Dark Ororo story since The Arena came out... still waiting for it.

145-147 is a GLORIOUS story, it is terrific, it is a must-read for any and all Storm fans.

Dude what do you think happens to uber-powerfull people? They dont just stay as a threat to the world, they either die or lost that power.

I first read about Storm through the comics, but the X-Men cartoon in the early 1990`s really brought out Storm.

... and that would just be a rip-off of the Dark Phoenix storyline (and UXM 145-147 was already a retread). I think readers would pretty much catch on to it right away.

It wasn't a rip off. Claremont put Ororo through a very similar experience only to show that Ororo can succeed where Jean can't, showing us Ororo is far stronger and that her indomitable will is absolute :p

Dear lord, generalizing is such an stupid thing...

Anyway, I'd LOVE to see her die a glorious death at the end of such a saga, then seeing her like she is now in BP's book.

So Wanda is a Jean rip-off too? 'Cause she, like Jean, was a very powerful character, that became even stronger and lost her sanity along the way - only to threaten the world and die/disappear.

I'm sure that if Marvel writers would want it, they could find a reason for Storm's powers to increase and for her to go mad and become a villain(and that's what a Marvel Mad Woman is all about...).

U just take the words right outa my mouth RSS..u da man!
