Yes, a comic book forum is the place to avoid fanboys....

People that say crap like :" I hate fanboys" really love fanboys. They love instigating and antogonizing. Why else make such a statement? They are generally the biggest geeks of the fanboy pile. :p

lol its just that i'm tired of the condesending bull people be bringing me kuz i'm a storm fan. heck, dun't see me chasing after scooter and jean fanbratz.

what the hell is a ''scooter fanbrat''? oh and people dont care that you like Storm..why would we..but people will start to care if you starting going around ''STORM IS THE BESTIST X-MAN AND WOULD OWN ALL OF MARVEL WHILE TAKING A DUMP''

Otherwise you should get on ok....but you should also stop being so agressive...thats not going to help.

Speak for yourself.

the orginal poster asked why Anti-Storm feeling are rampent here...and i beleive the majorty of those feelings are cause by her biased fanboys.

oh and you can keep your assumptions do yourself....I dont like them because they annoy me and usually have no idea what they are talking about....not for any other reason.

oh and yeh i know comic book forums are full of them..but im not going to stop posting because 3 or 4 people are biased twits.

At first it was Spider Man and his Amazing Friend, then I got my first issue of Uncanny X-men (IIRC, 258) when I was 13.

He/she does have a point. Some posters do take things a little to far when it comes to their favorite, be it Phoenix, Storm or Cyke.

Sadly, I've had an attack of the "Fanboy Frenzy".:(

Uh, what the heck did you think I was doing. I was speaking for myself, stating my opinion.

I made no assumptions. Where did I assume anything? I made a statement of opinion. No assumption. Difference. I really don't care why you don't like fanboys; it's irrelevant. Making a statement that says "I don't like fanboys" only incites comments from said fanboys, therefore my statement holds true.

Full of them with only 3 or 4 twits? Where are you posting? Most of the people here are quite knowledgable and intelligent in their posts. Occassionally there's the random tweaker that gets a bit carried away, but the fact of the matter is if you take time from your life to post in a comic/movie forum, then you are indeed a fanboy. We all are.

a scooter fanbrat is a fanboy of cyke.

okay people don't care-good to know. but its condecending crap like "storm is the bestist x-man and would own all of marvel while taking a dump". thanks alot for proving my point guy. theres as much storm fans flinging that bull as cyke, as jean as mc hammer fans. hell, i think storm is the best and would own alot of marvel superheroes. again, sue me but stop riding me.

loose the bull and we are cool. keep it and you can shove it.

agression, this is my first set of agressive manner on forums. just sick and tired of it all..:down

Wow. Looks like this thread needs to be canned before tempers flare even worse.

Does that mean you hate me too Cyke? I'm a fan boy as well.

So Wanda is a Jean rip-off too? 'Cause she, like Jean, was a very powerful character, that became even stronger and lost her sanity along the way - only to threaten the world and die/disappear.

First off, House of M isn't really about Wanda. Most of the story is spent on developing the mutant-ruled world.

She's not the main character of House of M; shes barely in it. And Wanda fans are less than thrilled with the whole development.

And even then, House of M was a weak story in and of itself that no one is going to really care about in 10 years, least of all Wanda's crazyness. Its noteable for its effects, thats it.

I'm sure that if Marvel writers would want it, they could find a reason for Storm's powers to increase and for her to go mad and become a villain(and that's what a Marvel Mad Woman is all about...).

I'm sure they could, but again, it would just be an obvious rip-off.

She altered reality over the whole of Earth.

She was the one everyone were after.

She was the one that eventually finished it all with those three words.

She didn't appear in it that much, but it was all about her(not in the most direct of ways, but still). It would be like the Dark Phoenix Saga would be told only from the point of view of the X-Men.

Sure, it may be a weak story - but she got her chances to shine(and I'm always glad to see Marvel heroines getting the spotlight). Will it matter in ten years from now? Will just have to live and see.

So, every X-woman that would get very powerful and become a villain would be a Jean rip-off? That's a very interesting approach.

I guess we should just agree to disagree.

You may have been stating your opinion but are you seriously going to sit there and say you were not aiming you comment at me? or was it just convenient that in my previous post i said i hate fan boys.

if your stating your opinion you should really say ''i think'' or ''in my opinion''...but instead you made a statement basically generalizating people who don't like biased fan boys into one group...and your going to sit their and say ''its my opinion i can generalize people if i want''?

Id be surprised to hear something like that coming from a Storm fan

oh and trust my your statement does not hold any truth when it comes to what i said....ill repeat myself again....the original poster asked why anti storm feelings in this forum are high...and its basically got to do with people like Sebita & Javon. I'm pretty sure the majority of people will agree with me here.

It wasn't because i fancied causing trouble...so no your statement is not true and is basically only what you think in your own head.

Sure I'm a fan of comics...but i can take each and every x-men and point out their faults. point out their character flaws. i can easily turn round and say ''oh yeah Cyclops doesn't stand a chance against Rogue in fight''

or i could show you the defintion:Fanboy or fanboi is a term used to describe a male who is utterly devoted to a single subject or hobby, often to the point where it is considered an obsession.

i am far from obsessed & utterly devoted with Cyclops or the x-men..its a part time hobby

I fell in love with Storm during the early 80's in the Uncanny X-men comic. Just before she lost her powers and went through her punk mohawk phase. Her characterization has been a bit stagnant over the last few years but I hope that will change soon.

check out the black panther comic book for recent storm developments.

The current anti-Storm sentiment on this board has nothing to do with the character herself. From what I've observed, it has everything to do with two tiny groups of users here. Group 1--which consists of some overzealous (and annoying) Storm fans and Group 2--which consists of some equally overzealous (and annoying) anti-Storm and/or general Marvel/X-Men Character fans.

Group 1 takes Storm fandom to unreasonable levels. In their eyes (and threads) Storm can do no wrong, and any who dare to challenge Storm's greatness is attacked and dismembered. The result turns off everyone (even the rest of the Storm fans), especially due to the sheer Storm-praise overkill.

Just as guilty though is Group 2, who is forever on standby to bash Storm, her fans, and to instigate the Storm fanatics. For example, currently there are 3 threads on this forum's first page, where this contention is taking place. And I've noted a pattern: at the heart of each conflict I find the same culprits bickering and brawling. It's like they follow eachother from thread to thread. :o

The term "fanboy" doesn't always carry a negative connotation. And by definition, all of the above are passionate fanboys--and anyone who says they aren't is deluding themselves, sadly.

I love Storm, she is in my top five.

And I love rabid Storm fans, they are so passionate. Especially most 'insert name here' lovers. They just say so-and-so is the best, but Storm fans always have proof. Gotta respect that.

Better yet, Exile, don't. Hudlin neither knows nor cares to know anything about any character he writes and instead prefers to make up his own personalities for them, hence they behave wildly out of character.

I dont hate Storm. So why the hell are you guys calling me a "hater"?? WTF? When did I ever day I didint like Storm?
