It seems that I arrived here five pages too late. So my interjection will most likely be ill timed. But I personally am a fan of Storm, because of her ethnicity. I know it seems narrow minded, but even as a young child growing up, I could recognize the difference in my skin, and the fact that every strong figure in the media, was not of my color. Any time I found strong heroes (fictional or otherwise) that were of my race, I clung to them. Ray from Ghostbusters, Zach from Power Rangers and of course, Storm. The list is much longer, but you get the idea. Black people aren't often portrayed in the most positive light, so anytime we shine, I feel like I am shining just as well. As i've matured in life though, i've come to appreciate Storm for much deeper reasons. She is level headed, strong and to a minor degree, a brilliant tactician in terms of one on one combat (as proof by beating Jean in a Danger Room simulation, as well as fighting Cyclops, without her powers). I'm rather glad to see that Halle Berry was able to lobby for a more prominent role for Storm, in the third installment. In Wizard, she shared that she actually gets to fly this time...
