How's the JLA script? I don't know... but it's done.

i heard Shawn Levy had another movie he was working on! One at a time, he should focus on The Flash!

If the script is as good as they say...

JLA MOVIE > SUPERMAN RETURNS SEQUEL

Hell...Superman will probably be the central figure in both movies anyway.

Who says the JLA script is good?

Superman has a better chance of getting into production sooner; it actually has a director, producers, cast etc

Singer's busy with pre-production on his movie with Tom Cruise...and yes they have a cast, producers, a director, etc. but at the least they're still a year away...

JLA already has a script that BASED ON THE ARTICLE, the execs liked it and are already looking for a director. Nothing substantial of course, but enough to make me interested. I'm not saying the script is good...i'm just going by the article.

And since there has been speculation from the beginnning that WB is contemplating doing a JLA movie in place of another Superman movie I'll say it again--

JLA MOVIE > SUPERMAN SEQUEL

Speculation; yes; by uninformed fans but nothing concrete; no facts.

Legendary has the Superman sequel officially on their list of films theyre financing. The production was looking at March 08 to begin; thats plenty of time but its way more realistic for this to happen than this JLA thing suddenly pulling itself together. The script itself was also just a first draft.

Not to mention that Batman features in this script and the rights to Batman likely wont be available till after Nolan is done his trilogy; that puts this film ages away.....way passed the point of a Superman Sequel.

Warner Bros can do anything they want with Batman, even with Nolan onboard. Nolan does not hold temporary rights or anything like it.

Not Nolan alone but that studio division; that was the reason Smallville wasnt allowed to use Bruce Wayne/Batman despite trying relentlessly for years. They have restrictions in place so there cant be multiple live action representations of the same character around the same timeframe.

Yes BUT, I seriously doubt they'd use Batman in a JLA movie without Christian Bale...

Like Routh IS the new Superman, Bale IS Batman. And if Nolan isn't done with him yet, there's nothing the WB can do. Well technically there is (recast) but I seriously doubt people would want them to recast Batman for a JLA movie.

The big reason why Batman wasn't allowed on Smallville and stuff is because they didn't want multiple versions of the same character existing at the same time. It will be Bale or no one at all, but I do believe that they would have discussed the whole thing with him at this point since they're so far along already. If they weren't sure that they could get him, then Batman wouldn't be in the script at all.

JLA Movie Update
Questions remain over Superman sequel.
by Stax

US, June 24, 2007 - The live-action Justice League of America movie took another step towards becoming a reality earlier this month when the screenplay for the highly anticipated comic book movie was handed in to Warner Bros.

According to Variety, spouses-screenwriting partners Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney delivered their draft to the studio, which was reportedly pleased with it. The trade says the Mulroneys' script includes "a half-dozen of the best-known superheroes working together, including Batman and Superman."

The JLA project, however, poses a bit of a problem for Warners as they must decide whether they will release a JLA movie before the next Superman movie.

Variety asks, "Will a souped-up Justice League prove to be Kryptonite to Superman?" The trade seems to be a bit schizophrenic on the JLA/Superman sequel issue. Variety itself began the Superman sequel doom and gloom last summer when it reported that the sequel was not a sure thing considering Superman Returns' lukewarm domestic box office. Then, when the online community rumored that the Super-sequel might be shelved in favor of JLA, the trade blasted the claims, saying, "Assertion would be on a par with saying Sony or Paramount would put their respective Spider-Man and Indiana Jones properties into turnaround." Now the same paper is asking, "Will superteam eclipse Superman sequel?"

In any case it appears to now be a legitimate concern since Superman director Bryan Singer is about to shoot Valkyrie and there's still no screenplay for the Super-sequel.

Superman will most likely be the main character for both films anyway so I say...bring on the JLA!!!

Wow! i would rather have a JLA film even though i was looking forward to Superman MOS.

I have "completed" my own Justice League script. Anyone who would like to read it and help me with some feedback, PM me.

I really want to see MOS, but yeah bring on JLA

Terrible news... I have officially lossed faith in WB and DC... well there is always Marvel

Routh talks JLA

Brandon Routh talks Justice League
Date : June 29, 2007 Posted By : Clint Morris

With word that the ‘’Justice League’’ script is ready to roll, the question now is a ) when will it kick off (will it kick off before the “Superman Returns” sequel?) and b) who will be a part of it, cast-wise.

The new Man of Steel, Brandon Routh, tells IESB that he’d definitely be interested in reprising his role as Superman for the “Justice League” movie and he’d be keen to “work with Christian [Bale, who plays Batman] and whoever else was to be a part of it”.

Having said that, he says he doesn’t know anything about it other than the script is out there.

According to Routh, the “Superman Returns” sequel will start prepping next year “until someone tells me differently. I’m excited to begin… whenever we do begin... the earlier, the better, next year I think. I’m getting a little itchy to get back into Superman”.

Good to hear. I don’t care what the fanboys say Bryan Singer’s “Superman Returns” was a terrific picture… one of my favourite films of 2006.

Cool, I'd prefer to see MOS first

They need to get Green Lantern, Flash, and Wonder Woman off the ground before actually doing a JLA movie.

that was the original plan. suffice it to say they wasted at least two years on each of those in development hell with absolutely nothing to show for (well maybe except for The Flash, at least they still have a director attached). time to tackle the problem another way i suppose.

btw, what happened to your avvy

After how the FF performed, I wonder why DC would go the family-comedy route with Flash now? They should dust off Goyer's Flash and move forward.

Or at least let me see it!:woot:

Fantastic Four actually did well in the box office. And the Flash should be a lighter character than what is said what Goyer wanted (a darker adaptation).
