Two Heroes Cut From JLA?

I'm calling bs on this rumor, I'm not sure why it's news all of a sudden, I had heard the "death of superman, expulsion of batman, green arrow rumor a long time ago; before production had stoped...

I would rather see a film without Superman and Batman, especially with the casting choices we're looking at. If they had used Bale and Routh it would be a different story. I do believe JLA could work without Superman and Batman.
People don't give WW, Flash and GL enough credit. You have films like Hellboy, and Ghostrider, and Blade, and all these lesser known characters making thier way to the screen, I see no reason that WW, Flash, GL, Aquaman, and MM can't bring people into theaters.

But I really don't see them going this route at all.

Yeah but then you couldn't make it an origin film... how do you do a JLA without explaining the origin first? Or maybe not doing an origin... but at least having the fouinding members on the team from the start... you'd need to explain or show how Superman dies and Batman gets expelled... both would have to be featured in the film. Its really not that great a concept just by writing those two out... unless they they just intend to call it a JLA without Batman and Superman and ignore all the versions and works out there about a JLA... i'd actually prefer that over this sh:tty ass cast... they aren't going to turn around and sign a huge name for Batman at this point... I guarantee whoever they bring in will be under 30 and largely unknown... which is a joke. That's why I don't think Batman is in it... and I don't want Superman unless its Routh or they recast while completely ignoring anything in SR from this point on.

I don't see why Superman needs to die, or Batman be "expelled" from the JLA for them not to be included in the movie. Just don't include them. Honestly, J'onn is more of a staple of the JLA than Superman or Batman are. Not that the average movie-goer would know that.

Yea it would be a hell of alot easier to market the film to general audience/casual comic fans if u have both batman and superman as the leaders and top characters in the film. Yes it could work without them but it would be better to have them in the film. I said this before we wouldnt want to see this be crappy and stupid like that live action justice league show pilot from the late 90s if u have seen it. I have a copy of it and it is utter trash.

I dont buy this for a second. No Hollywood producer in his right mind would hinge the amount of money they are going to have to spend on this movie on Green Lantern and Green Arrow.

Batman and Superman should stay in the movie, but don't make them the main plot point. Give everyone an equal amount of screentime. Show the general audience (since us fans know) how the JLA formed.

I don't know about that. I just think since Supes and Bats have thier own seperate franchises, they shouldn't take over this movie. It wouldn't be fair to fans of the other JLA members to see their favorites overshadowed by two characters who already have solo films. They might as well make a Batman/Superman movie and not even bother with a JLA film.

I myself want to see a JLA film get made. As long as the script writers/casting directors/Director are all on the same page, doing what's best for the fans and how they want their heroes portrayed, I'm all for it. If not, WB should just stop now.

I think this could work without Superman and Batman, course if they dont related them to the history, that means, dont tell super is dead, dont tell Batman is fired and start working on something fresh with new heroes for teh audience: Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Flash

Well the rumor is the rewrites are because the script was to tie Superman Returns and Batman Begins together and when Bale said No and when Nolan got upset over this they had to do major rewrites.

Another outlet has stated the same thing. I agree with the article, it would just make more sense, and I'd feel more comfortable, if two heroes that are already established are left out of the movie. As the author states, it'd just be less messy if Superman and Batman are not portrayed by another set of actors on the big screen.

There's not gonna be a JL movie without Superman and Batman. Just like there's not gonna be a X-Men movie without Wolverine, or Transformers without Optimus Prime or G.I. Joe without Snake Eyes.
