Days of Future Past Hugh Jackman IS The Wolverine Thread

if he agrees then chances are he is gonna be in X-force, FOX don't care how much they use the character

true. But I', not expecting four X-Force movies, nor am I expecting four more wolverine solo films. Im expecting either this;

2 X-Force movies,
2 movies featuring the Original cast

OR

1 X-Force movie
1 Wolverine movie
2 X-Men movies with the original cast.

I actually don't think that's too far off. Fox NEEDS to start signing these guys for multi picture deals.

I agree. If they haven't already they need to get Halle, Anna, Ellen, Shawn, Daniel, James, Famke and maybe even Patrick and Ian back as soon as possible. Recasting now would just be so disappointing.

I personally think Hugh should take the deal. I understand he wants to move on to bigger and better things but when actors get to a certain age they do not always get the roles that they want. having this deal would mean that he wouldn't have to worry about not getting movies roles. I understand Hugh is huge right now but I still think he should take the deal. He can continue to pursue the more serious role whilst still being a huge box office draw and appearing in blockbuster films like the X-Men movies.

Yeah I tend to agree with this. I think one more Wolverine film is sufficient and then as the headline for X-Force to get that off the ground he would be in the first of them and then Xmen with the original people, assuming DoFP is as successful as we all hope.

Wolverine may not be popular with everyone or feel like he's over used but he does have a fanbase that is pretty strong and so his use is a reflection of that.

If this is true then that adds credence to the thought that Fox have or are trying to sign the OT actors for more X-Men films.

That's my thinking too. Hopefully the FC actors as well.

I do wonder what Hugh will agree to, if anything. It takes a lot of work to look like Wolverine, he's not getting any younger, and his wife I think has a big say also - I know he has trainers, nutritionists, etc. but the yo-yo preparation for Wolverine has to take its toll I would think.

Meanwhile, celebrity auction:

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine costume from X-Men sold for $22,000, while Tom Cruise's "Charlie Babbitt" suit from Rain Man sold for $30,000. A pair of prop copies of The Daily Planet from Superman: The Movie sold for a total of $750.

He may also want to do a film by fiom base, and not be locked into several films at once.

He loves playing it, you can see that. And he has said that he would like to play Wolverine for as long as he can train.

He has said that he tries to top his last physique every time he plays Wolverine. TW definitely showed him in his absolute best form ever (at 44)! I wonder if he will top that in DOFP and then top that in the film after that.

Thats going to be hard work, he'll be pushing 50 by then, he may be able to get in shape but four more movies and he will start to look like old man Logan:woot:

Maybe thats why he's hesitating as it would be pretty restrictive as to other roles and dedication to gym time.

They could compromise and start scaling back his role. For example, he isn't on the XF team, but makes an appearance in the movie.

Who even know if the story or even part of it is true, it *is* the National Enquirer after all!

He can still look beefy and defined without being veiny and having his shirt off all the time. i know Danoyse wants him stripped off most of the movie, but she'll have to get used to him being a bit more covered up! He can do the role without resorting to extreme measures (too much steroids/HGH etc) and without taking his clothes off.

This is true, they could dial him back to a less dominant roll and not make him have to take his shirt off quite so much to get in uber shape everytime:woot:

I hope he does agree to it, he really does enjoy playing the character or at least gives that impression more so than any other CBM actor I can think of (I'm sure others equally do but he just gives off that enthusiasm), but I would understand if he wanted not to do it I'm just glad we got to see him redeem himself after Origins, that would have been cruel on him if that had been his last major movie as Wolverine.

Hey now...I enjoy the view, but I prefer a good movie over anything else.

I think Jackman truly enjoys body building, a lot of his look is down to himself and not the director. This is how he as a fan wants to see Wolverine on screen, just rippling with muscles.

He has expressed his desire to get as cut as he could for the Shingen fight. He says in press notes that when the audience sees his body, he wants them to go "whoa!". He's motivated and really pushing far. Almost all the posters and promoss of The Wolverine had him shirtless. He's actually increasing the number of his shirtless scenes as he gets older! If he's not going shirtless, he atleast wears a tank top to show his biceps.

I think Jackman himself will not do the role unless he can get in super shape. I think the day he feels like he cannot bring the physique he has in mind to life, he will stop playing the role.

Its great that we have an actor who just wants to fully embody the role.

Let's see what decision Jackman takes. But the man is dedicated, he will never bring Wolverine to the screen unless he can bring an extra-ordinary physique to go with it.

There is no denying that apart from the height thing Hugh Jackman was perfect for this role. So much so in fact that the comics have sorta taken more notice of that and made him appear taller hahaha.

There are two other actors who I think equal Jackman in their love of their character and enjoyment when playing them. They are Andrew Garfield and Tom Hiddleston.

Definitely.

100% agreed. But do you not think Downey Jr. or Chris Hemsworth or Chris Evans feel the same way?

Just curious.:woot:

I think RDJ plays the role well, but I don't think he's... that into it.

But if he had to step down from the role, would they just kill off Wolverine?

There are all kinds of options. They could recast, they could write the character out, they could introduce his son, X23...there are a number of ways they could go with the concept.

I think that RDJ/Evans/Hemsworth love what they do, but Jackman/Garfield/Hiddleston are just hardcore fans, Hiddleston even wrote a letter to Kieron Gillen praising his JIM run.

Like everyone, I'm really curious if that story from the Inquirer is true.

Jackman would be set for life...but family seems to be very important to him and you wonder how, if true, it would affect his family life.
