Days of Future Past Hugh Jackman IS The Wolverine Thread

If this is true then that adds credence to the thought that Fox have or are trying to sign the OT actors for more X-Men films.

They probably signed a 3-film contract when they signed up for DOFP.

if he agrees then chances are he is gonna be in X-force, FOX don't care how much they use the character

personally i see it as abit cowardly on FOX's part to need wolverine for X-force but that looks like where its going

Given by the box-office performance of First Class/The Wolverine, I can see why.

There are all kinds of options. They could recast, they could write the character out, they could introduce his son, X23...there are a number of ways they could go with the concept.
Would they write him out of the comics too I wonder?

He says in press notes that when the audience sees his body, he wants them to go "whoa!".

My reaction's to Hugh's recent beefy & veiny look is more like "ewwwww". I mean, props to him for putting in all that hard work, but I find it a huge turn-off.

I also don't know about him playing Wolverine into his 60s. At the end of the day, no one is irreplaceable and eventually the studio will want a younger actor for the role.

He was trying to look like a badass in a fight scene, being sexy is secondary.

Yeah. I think Hugh got precisely the reaction that he wanted to generate. It wasn't mean to be a sexy look, it was meant to look terrifying, badass and brutal. They said the look was more like a "raw nerve". The reaction he was going for wasn't "He looks sexy!", the reaction he was going for was "Holy ****! He looks scary, crazy and insane!"

After recently watching the wolverine, which I very much enjoyed a more mature wolverine film, but I do feel I'd like to start seeing his role scaled back, I really can't see what else he can offer apart from more action scenes,

i have to agree its getting harder to see where they can go with his character, its pretty much just stab, heal, rage in terms of action scenes

Although I should mention I'm interested in seeing a aged grey headed wolverine....oh wait DOFP :)

Bit late to this but I really hope Wolverine's claw situation gets sorted for DOFP. I personally hate the bone claws so I'm hoping they're adamantium in both past and future sequences.

There is little more to learn about the character, I think. Or perhaps it would be tedious to focus on showing us any more.We don't really need to see any stories that fill in more of the missing years from his past, as that would be overdoing it. Once he gets the adamantium back, that will bring his story full circle.

Well you know they could always bring in another woman for Wolverine to cry over ;)

No, Mariko is his soulmate, she is a goddess. Also, Wolverine having women issues is part of his character.

According CBM. Jackman has been offered a whopping 100 million dollars to play wolverine for four more movies what do people think?

I'm in two minds,

I'm excited at the prospect of 4 more movies. What they are doesn't seem determined, but lots more mutant fun assured.

At the sametime I'm like isn't 6 movies ( including the FC cameo) or deffo 5 with wolverine at the centre over kill?! Id like wolverine to be a part of xmen just slightly toned down to allow over stories to take precedence.

I also wonder how much more of wolverine there is to explore? how much more can audiences really take before people get bored?!

I think the offer is a tall order personally and Hugh might take less money for less films.... he is a nice genuine guy after all.....but what are people thinking?!

This was mentioned somewhere earlier but I believe the original source is the National Enquirer so who knows if it's true. Plus Hugh is getting older and he even said it's getting harder to get into the type of shape he would like. Plus he always puts his family first so that also would be taken into consideration.

Understandable. DOFP is gonna be big, and they want their lead for more films or at the least appearances. Wolverine is not gonna be gone for 10 years, and we already know X-Force is in the making which Logan is a big part of in the comics. His films make 400ww just by himself on a smaller budget. He's a huge part of this franchise. Always has been, always will be.

Absolutely wolverine is very important for the franchise, but I think in reality Hugh will struggle to get his muscle body, or will lose enthusiasm to train,

Really? I dont think so, that guy gives it his all. Maybe he will take a break, but he loves the character. He has seemed more focused now then ever before.

He does love the character but it'll get harder with every film as he get older

The DOFP Comic Con footage leaked today and Jackman shows no signs of flagging, infact he really is getting in better and better shape as he ages.

There's a scene in the leaked footage where he looks in as good shape as he was in the Shingen fight scene in TW (if not better).

This man is a beast and Wolverine in real life. The shape that he's getting into at 44 is extremely impressive.

Theres also alot of money involved for him so I'm sure that motivates. I don't think it will be an issue either way though.

I reckon it'll take 4 films best part of 10 years, plus hell wanna do other projects, will he have that figure at say 54/55?!
