Never seen Superman Returns, to can't comment on that.

Hulk wasn't that bad.

Wolverine and the X-Men (Sorry, X3) made me cry. Being an X-fan since a kid, and loving the first two, I felt cheated.

Ghost Rider is probably the worst movie I've watched all the way through.
(I didn't finish Elektra)

FF2 isn't too bad either, I don't have much against it. At least it had a cool Surfer, Reed and Human Torch.

I didn't mind X3 or Hulk. I know they are hated and I understand why, but they were entertaining at least for me. FF Rise of the Silver Surfer really pissed me off. Could have been, should have been one of the best movies in the Marvel franchise. Instead it was a 90 minute (too short to have been affective) long joke intended for children. Yawn.

I saw the last few minutes of X3, but apart from that I have seen any of these. I want to see SR and X3 in full though, the others dont interest me.

X3 was my favorite, but then agian I love everything about the X-men except for Jean and Scott (Hate'm both)
Superman would be my second...it actually turned around my view of Superman, I got the movie thinking that I'd just make comments about how stupid is was, but it rocked frigging ass-except for the damn suit...who the hell wears their underwear outside of their costume, every other superhero improved their get-up why the hell does superman think hes any different.
And FF2 was a ways away from being third, but third all the say...the only good thing in that movie was the Silver Surfer other than that the movie was mediocre.

I know it's gonna be a popular statement, but Superman Returns sucked it hard. Like sucking a golf ball through a hose hard.

Why?
I thought that it was incredibly well made (for a super-man movie), the special effects were pretty good and the story line was well-developed.

^I agree, i think SR is a great movie, one of the best CB movies IMO.

superman is probably the best film on the poll, so i go with superman

I enjoyed X3 the most, so I voted for that.

X3 - it wasn't bad just disappointing to long term fans.

yeah none of these films are god awful just they didnt meet certain expectations

i am actually ashamed of having seen ghost rider.
god damn that was a let down

I think the poll results accurately sum up the perceived artistic effort of the movies.

Ghost Rider is the only one I don't own on DVD (and have no intention of buying it unless it ends up mega-cheap in the bargain bins)....so, for me, that one is worst. It's mostly because of what I believe was the hopeless miscasting of the lead role. Cage has been crap in recent movies - the remake of The Wicker Man was an absolute turd. Johnny Blaze needed to be someone more charismatic for whom the viewer felt more empathy. I'd rather have had Brad Pitt or some other hunky watchable actor than Cage's disconnected, wooden performance.

As for X3, I don't believe it's one of the worst movies ever. Singer and Ratner are opposites. Singer loves detail, subtext and careful thought, Ratner doesn't but instead he's a party-boy with a reputation for girls and fast cars and who likes fun, energy, movement, sheer entertainment. Fox hired Ratner and he didn't have much time to think about what he was doing even if he'd wanted to. What we got is a reflection of the rushed schedule and Ratner's personality. I expected a lot more... but I also think the movie was not a total disaster. Beast, Angel, Juggernaut and Multiple Man looked pretty good (as did Phoenix, though a shame about the lack of firebird), the action was visceral and realistic and not overly stylised, the colours were rich and warm, Storm had the most realistic hairstyle yet and she actually flew. Curing Rogue and killing Cyclops were the studio/writers' biggest errors...though Rogue's curing makes a kind of sense within the movie version of her character.

As I said, the poll results reflect the directorial craft of these movies, and seems fine from that standpoint.

^Well again i disagree, i cant even bare to watch X3 anymore, its a VERY poor movie IMO.

All the films there are bad, apart from SR which is one of the finest CB movies to date.

^I also thought Hulk was amazing, and i thought FF2 was average and GR slightly above average, X3 is terrible though.

And yet GR is in your list with 7 out of 10 !!!

I know you hate X3. You've made it clear often enough. But you must remember that first Singer left, then Fox hired Vaughn and committed to that release date and signed on all those actors (many of them now very expensive... the wages bill for X3 was $100million or so).... only for Vaughn to walk out and leave them in the poop. As a result they lost time and money and having contracted all those actors, they couldn't just cancel X3 (not without paying the actors anyway). Ratner was brought in at short notice to fulfil the studio's obligations.

Also, several of the stars made it clear they were not that keen on further movies. Patrick Stewart said he was quitting Hollywood and coming back to England, Rebecca Romijn was fed-up of the make-up process and said this would have to be her last movie as Mystique.

With a huge cast; expensive big name actors; and contracts signed for all those - they HAD to proceed with X3.

Hulk was terrible, I remembered it being good, then watched it recently and was mortified by the low quality.

They're all good with the exception of Superman Returns, IMO.

man, I really enjoyed Hulk. When I got round to watching it on dvd for the second time I grew to like it even more.
