I'm not a particular fan of any of them, but Superman Returns by far the best from that list.

And yet GR is in your list with 7 out of 10 !!!

I know you hate X3. You've made it clear often enough. But you must remember that first Singer left, then Fox hired Vaughn and committed to that release date and signed on all those actors (many of them now very expensive... the wages bill for X3 was $100million or so).... only for Vaughn to walk out and leave them in the poop. As a result they lost time and money and having contracted all those actors, they couldn't just cancel X3 (not without paying the actors anyway). Ratner was brought in at short notice to fulfil the studio's obligations.

Also, several of the stars made it clear they were not that keen on further movies. Patrick Stewart said he was quitting Hollywood and coming back to England, Rebecca Romijn was fed-up of the make-up process and said this would have to be her last movie as Mystique.

With a huge cast; expensive big name actors; and contracts signed for all those - they HAD to proceed with X3.

Why are you telling me this when i know it all anyway?

Doesnt stop X3 from being ****.

And i said GR is slightly above average, with 5 being average, i think 7 is about right.

As aggressive, self-justifying and big-headed as usual I see....

Sometimes (in fact, most times) you are such a knobhead.

Looks whos talking, your biggest tosser on the net, not to mention being an idiot as well.

And what was aggressive about telling you i already knew what you were telling me?

Is wittle X-Maniac angry because the nasty man on the winternet didnt agree with him?

Get a life softshyte.

Your posts are so tiresome and full of the same self-serving crap. It's all 'I love SR, I've watched it 18,000 times' or 'I hate X3, it's one of the worst movies ever made.' It's almost all you ever say.

And look how vile and aggressive you are now. There's rarely any intelligent discussion from you, rarely any constructive debate, rarely any acknowledgement of others having different opinions.

You're a big-headed idiot who thinks his own turds don't stink.

Wake up sunshine.

Your the one who always jumps on people for disagreeing with you, and if you checked my posts, you'd know that i say a lot more than those things.

You are just sad and pathetic arent you, you cant accept other people's opinions at all.

Ha ha you make me laugh.

Good, at least I can make you do something! :woot:

I do accept your opinions, I do accept we all want good movies, I do accept that there was artistry in SR (even if other factors affected its impact as a movie)....

I just wish you had a little more humility (ask for some for Christmas!) and a better capacity for accepting that other people can enjoy the things you don't, or can accept the background reasons for things being the way they were.

We all know X3 doesn't deliver when stacked against X1 and X2, and as movie in its own right it could have been so much better. Fox must know this or they'd be signing Ratner on for X4, 5, 6, 7 etc etc!

I can accept that people dont like things i dont, show me one of my posts were i say that someone is WRONG for not liking or liking something i do/dont.

Take as much time as you want and i guarantee you wont find one.

I repeadedly post that i like SR and dislike X3, but have i ever posted that other people should share that opinion? No.

Speak to the likes of Mega Joe or Dr.Collosus on the SR boards, i NEVER agree with them, but we NEVER insult each other or go to name calling like you did earlier.

Not to mention your the most hypocritical person ever, in this thread and others you have attacked or tried to 'correct' my opinions on X3, SR and even Ghost Rider now because it doesnt match you opinion. Honestly come back to reality.

Holy thread bump, Batman!

I originally voted SR but now I change it to Hulk...It has grown on me recently. :bh:

I'm still with X3 as the one I watch most and enjoy most, even though I acknowledge there was more directorial craft and artistry in Hulk and SR.
X3, for all its flaws, just has more in it for me to enjoy - action, story, drama, comicbook fantasy, emotion,

Critically? SR got highest ratings, then Hulk, then X3 then FF2 then GR.

Financially? X3 took most at box office, then SR, then Hulk, then FF2, then GR. X3 also made most profit compared with production costs.

It's interesting to consider the differential between box office and critical rating. Shouldn't they be the same? Shouldn't the most acclaimed movies be the ones pulling in the cash?

I guess I'm one of the few that really liked X3. While I can acknowlege some of the problems with the film, overall I really enjoyed it.

SR is the best movie ever!!

X3 is forgettable, light entertainment.

Hulk couldn't enjoy it at all but tried.

GR & FF2 who knows, haven't felt like watching them yet.

My order currently goes like this:

Superman Returns
Hulk
Ghost Rider
FF2:ROTSS

X3

My order:

Hulk
Superman Returns
Ghost Rider
X-Men: The Last Stand
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Xmen: The Last Stand
Fantastic Four: ROTSS
Superman Returns
Ghost rider
Hulk

On my personal scoring system, here's what they got out of 10 -

1. X3 (7.4)
2. Hulk (7)
3. SR (6.8)
4. FF2 (6.6)
5. GR (5.2)

Purely on 'rewatchability' I prefer X3, then FF2, then Hulk, then SR then GR. My score takes into account a lot more than 'enjoyment.'

Higher scores than X3 went to X1 (7.6), and then to X2, SM2, Narnia, POTC3 and The Fountain which all get 7.8. X3 got the same score as Golden Compass. Beowulf got 6.

1) Superman Returns (3 out of 4 stars)
2) Hulk (3 out of 4 stars)
3) X-Men: The Last Stand (2 1/2 out of 4 stars)
4) Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2 out of 4 stars)
5) Ghost Rider (1 1/2 out of 4 stars)

Btw, I think X3 is horribly judged on this board. Yes, the movie is crap, but not even the massive departures from the comic book and butchering of possibly the greatest comic book story arc makes it the god-awful horrible movie that the fanboys claim.

I couldnt disagree more, but thats just me. X3 is everything i never want to see in a CB movie ever again.

Hulk
Superman Returns
Tie between X3: The Last Stand and Ghost Rider.

I haven't seen Fantastic Four 2: ROTSS.
You're a better person for not seeing it. :o

X3: The Last Stand rules this list but FF: ROTSS is close.

FF: ROTSS is just too action light but it is an improvement from the first film.

One thing is for certain, both films greatly outclass the poorly paced Hulk, the dull rehash/soap opera known as Superman Returns and the truly bad Ghost Rider.

This may be just to me, but I expect departures from comics to films, and am open about those changes. If I were to judge based on comic book departures, then my favorite comic book film (so far) Batman Begins would be one of the worst comic book films ever made.

Oh, and I see that Matt used some mod-powers to vote twice. :o
