As long as Vince is around the former WCW title will always take a backseat to the WWE title
Sad but true. Part of me thinks he's made it a B title just to make the Big gold belt and WCW look second rate on purpose.
It would be the best way to go , but Triple H wants to insert himself into Mania and get a win over Brock Lesnar. It doesn't make sense from a storyline standpoint. Why would Brock return to face someone he already beat. If anything Brock should be challenging Cena, the champion , or the streak. So now Undertaker needs a worthy opponent. That only leaves CM Punk. Cena vs Rock ll is going to happen. They already planted the seeds at RAW 1000. It's a shame because Cena vs Rock was exciting , but not something I'd care to see again. Also Punk deserves to main event Wrestlemania 29.
Triple H knows all about inserting himself to keep his spot. Ask Stephanie.
Like you say why would Brock want to face a guy he already destroyed? I think the only new thing left for him to accomplish would be to break the streak. I'd love to see something with Punk but it doesn't look to be going that way.
The problem with Taker vs Lesnar is that there is no long term benefit to anyone. They'll both be gone the next day or week. Its a one time only payoff and we saw how much that sucked with Rock vs Cena when Rock wasn't even around to do anything with the Cena job.
what if its Punk vs Cena with Rock as guest ref? Cena could spend weeks sucking up to The Rock ,only for Rock to put him in his place.
Why would Cena suck up to the Rock? And why should Rock be allowed to put Cena in his place? Cena's done enough by putting over that part timer. Cena shouldn't be devalued like that again. It should be a rising star like Ziggler getting one over on him.
I liked Metallo's idea of a new "Doom" except instead of Lashley I'd have Ezekiel Jackson and Langston with masks and maybe an Armando Estarda type as their manager.
I said earlier I could see Reigns in the current Sheamus spot. I'm still highly anticipating when Bo Dallas gets the call up.
Sandow to me should be the next MitB winner
Man I'd love it if they gave Sandow that IC title and let him run with it. Against someone like Bryan it could be gold if they allow them to put on great matches.
Like Pink Ranger said Langston does nothing for me either. At least Jackson had an intimidating look beyond the muscles. I think they'd be a good power team but they'd need a great manager to cover their other weaknesses.
WWE is very much about getting a big name on side if you are going to have a shot, HBK probably saw that Punk's talent exceeded his attitude much like himself.
Yeah. Initially HBk had Patterson and Angle had Brisco. The Hardy's had Hayes. I think unless you have someone batting for you its tough.
I know Hayes liked Punks skills but He's not a big enough name behind the scenes. And Punk likes to march to the beat of his own drum to boot.
Haitch learned that from Hogan only he is less subtle with it than the Hulk who at least gives the guy the rub of tagging. Basically as much as he denies it due to his friendship with HBK I still think Triple H is size focused, both his pet projects (Sheamus and Batista) are "destroyers" as he likes to call them, I know he was behind Sin Cara but that was about wanting a new Rey for the Latin audience which is obviously a good revenue stream.
He's supposedly behind Maddox so we shall see but so far his push has consisted of getting squashed.
I think so too. I don't think his "skinny fata**" insult to Punk was a work. I think it was telling about how he really feels.
This is pretty much what is driving older fans away IMO. It used to be that from 97 or so onwards that if you got over you got pushed, Christian was the first victim of the return to Vince's way or the highway post-WCW buyout and there has been many since. Roidback is all Vince as well, even Triple H wouldn't get behind him with so little charisma and his clumsy in ring work.
Its the early 90's all over again. I see a bunch of guys that are basically the new Ahmed Johnson. Big but no great talent. People want a top guy they can connect with on some level. Thats what Hogan had. Ryback is nothing but a puffed up tough guy image with no mystique.
Punk is unique, he got WWE by the balls and got most of what he wanted from them and no matter how hard they try they can't bury him or downgrade him in the eyes of 90% of the fans whose balls have dropped.
He was always gonna pay for the things he said and as soon as the MITB and Summerslam buyrates weren't huge they used it to take some of the spotlight off him. Truth is the people Vince needed Punk to win back were never gonna lay their money down after 6 weeks of good Raw's, they needed sustained proof that change had arrived.
Sadly I don't think Vince is interested in change. Vince wants it his way because he thinks he knows best.
Exactly, this was the line they tread with Jeff Hardy as well but in this case there is no reason for such caution, Dolph is ready and wont get pulled up on a drugs bust a week after he's given the title, he will work himself into the ground as a champion.
My big problem with Triple H working with Hardy was if he REALLY had such a problem with him being reliable why work with him at all. We all know the answer but its just annoying.
If Patterson had as much power as he used to I think he'd support pushing Ziggler.
Agreed, TNA's title scene is really looking bright right now, especially with Sting and Angle out of the picture. The company has seemingly turned a corner when it comes to how they book and I think the fact they are not showcasing one guy as more important than everyone else is a big plus.
As far as diversity of the main event that reminds me of WWE's Attitude Era. TNA doesn't have an Austin type in the lead but like WWF back then there are a lot of guys getting equal time that could legit carry the world title at least for short runs. I don't think WWE has that right now. They are stallinmg on Ziggler and they shouldn't have stayed behind keeping Bryan higher on the card. Its crazy that TNA of all companies have figured out how to keep former main eventers relevant in the current main event and WWE hasn't.
Roode giving Aries the finger made me mark a little bit because it reminded of when wresting had that kind of compelling main event scene where a lot of guys mattered. And it was such an awesome d*** move.
I've longed for Roode to come to the WWE and be the true heel that they have lacked for so long. But in truth, they'd most likely ruin him.
I think he'd be great in the role but WWE would blow it. I see what they've done with Bryan and Punk and I just have no faith in them handeling Roode right now. The only way he'd have a shot is if someone like Triple H fell in love with his work.
But otherwise...they'd feed him to someone like Rock just like Punk will be. At least in TNA the days of a strong talent like Roode being fed to a part timer or old timer seem to be over. Unless Hogan gets an itch.

But even then if recent reports are true Hogan simply cannot risk wrestling anymore. he supposedly turned down a big money offer from a mexican(?) promotion.
I'm not a fan of cesaro and had noises why, but I think hunter hit it on the head. If they had given him a gimmick like shamrock or Blackman and using someone like asanka(sp) as his mouth piece he may have got over better
I like Cesaro but his charcter is to gimmicky. A cheesy one at that. It puts him into a certain midcard niche. With his ability he could be something more.
I bet Aksana's mouthpiece work would be a much enjoyed experience.
Wait, I thought Wolverine was Jewish?
No but his old sparring partner Ben Grimm is. I think so was the first in his long line of underaged tag alongs. Jewish jailbait Kitty Pryde.
