Ahh... another grammar nazi?
NY Yankees is ONE team.
Sank/Sunk are both past tense of Sink.
Thank you.

One thing that still bugs me is I haven't seen a game there yet. I visited NY when there weren't any games going on, and I just cancelled my NY trip yesterday, so I don't know when I'm going back. It's always been a dream of mine, I've been a Yankees fan for as long as I can remember. They were the first team I read about as a youth.Erzengel said:I'm a Yankee fan.![]()
The funny thing was all the fights I saw in the stands and the amount of obsentities I heard down to the field. Felt like home.![]()
To be fair though, you'd have to say "the Yankees team" for that to work. You usually say "the yankees" or "the cardinals" or "the red sox" as plural.DBella said:Ahh... another grammar nazi?

I didn't say a word to her or about the mistakes. I was just pointing em out. Quoting a post to correct a spelling isn't considered dickly, and that's usually just a single word and an asterick.Calvin said:I think you were on the dick side.

Well, she called you a grammar nazi, so apparently it didn't come out as nicely as you thought.kypade said:I didn't say a word to her or about the mistakes. I was just pointing em out. I typed "Yankees" instead of NY Yankees coz I assumed that it was quite obvious I was talking about them as one team. Besides, it's a message board, not like I am writing an essay to be graded. Who gives a sith.Calvin said:To be fair though, you'd have to say "the Yankees team" for that to work. You usually say "the yankees" or "the cardinals" or "the red sox" as plural.
I still have nightmares about it from playing it up through high school. I can't really watch it anymore without feeling really screwed up.Wilhelm-Scream said:I can't get into dudes whacking balls with sticks and running around in circles.![]()

Nope. Didn't consider you a "dick". I had no problem with you pointing them out. GN is a term commonly used here and I thought it's funny.kypade said:I didn't say a word to her or about the mistakes. Okay.kypade said:No grammar nazi. Just pointin em out.
And justify it as you will, they're both still wrong. It didn't "make your heat sank", it "made your heart sink" OR "your heart sank".

Can't help that. All I did was alert her to the mistakes. That isn't nazical in the least. I made no comment about the errors or her intelligence, I didn't even offer a suggestion on how to fix it. If she wants to type wrongly from now on, at least I know she knows those are errors.Calvin said:Well, she called you a grammar nazi, so apparently it didn't come out as nicely as you thought.
Quit been so snarky.Darren Daring said:These people is all so depressing![]()
By heritage, yes.Calvin said:You're italian, right?

I agree with you, I'm just saying you could have done it a wee bit more politely since she's not american.kypade said:Can't help that. All I did was alert her to the mistakes. Plus, I make plenty of spelling/grammar errors here.
And the Yankees, as a single team, is still plural. The Bulldogs was losers in the tournament still makes no sense, despite the fact that the Bulldogs were my highschool football team. Yknow?

My "heat" did not sink, btw.![]()
