Hype Diplomacy! (New Hype Game! Sign up here!)

So how would someone lose? I just dont understand how people would be outed from the game? Would they be absorbed into other countries? Or just 'die' ... and how does that even happen? If someone invades your country, what does that mean?

For the purpose of this game I am taking liberties with the rules.

You will lose under the following conditions.

1) Your team no longer possesses any territories.

2) All of your original territories are captured (leaving you with no home country).

3) Individuals may be removed from the game when the coup de'tat aspect is brought in.

4) If the game goes beyond "20 years" (40 days) the team with the most territories will be the winner.

How does your territory get taken? If someone waltzes in.... do they just get it? Sorry for all the questions. I'm intrigued by this, but I have never played Risk or anything of the sort so its... very confusing, to say the least.

I'm not sure how you take a territory. Rolling dice like in Risk wouldn't really work here. ;)

That is what this thread is for, questions as well as saying "Sign Me Up". Matt will answer those questions.

Is there any way to play Monopoly Online ? Now that would be ****ing awesome

Its not done in a Risk dice fashion. Territories can be taken under the following circumstances.

1) If an army moves into a country with out an army occupying it, that army will claim the territory.

2) If an army moves into a territory with another army occupying it, the defending army wins by default.

3) UNLESS another army (be it the same country's or another country agreeing to assist them) also attacks the territory simultaneously. Then the other country wins.

Sounds easy, right? The catch? It all happens simultaneously. You do not know what moves the other team is making until you have already submitted yours.

So it's like Risk, but instead of dice, it's just whoever has more, with the defender winning ties?

Not really. Every territory can only be occupied by one army. So its just a matter of who gets the allies to help with the attack, positions themselves the best, makes the right calls etc.

But if you have more allies then you win, right? What about when two countries attack a neutral space at once, who wins?

Hype members need to stop being wussies & sign up for this game

That's what it sounds like to me. Is it legal to have an ally in your country. Then you'd have two defending armies against any invaders.

SO when does this begin and what are all the rules...we kinda need at least a good guide

This sounds kinda complicated. :csad: Would i be able to have an army sent forward from Feudal Japan with Samurai' and Ninja at my command ?

No. Japan doesn't have an active military at this point and you aren't allowed to go back in time. So you lose.

I'm curious, but not convinced that this game would be right for me, since I'm still not sure what the hell it is.

All in good time. Right now Matt and I are talking with Hasbro trying to get this right.
