Film Hype Movie Club

General Film
Tried to come up with a November category that might cover the spooky vibes we skipped last month and also feel right for Fall/Thanksgiving, so I settled on....

Gothic Fantasy

A pretty broad category that covers a lot of different types of flicks - could be horror, could be romance, could be adventure, could be historical, could be futuristic, but as long as it's got those dark, gothic, fantastical vibes, it counts! Everybody gets up to 4 picks, voting will be open through the weekend!

My gothic fantasy picks:

Nosferatu the Vampyre (the Herzog one aka the one I haven't seen!)
Sleepy Hollow
The Dark Crystal
Repo! The Genetic Opera

Crimson Peak
The Haunting (1963)
Nosferatu the Vampyre
The Others

Apologies for slacking this month, been traveling (still am), but we have one whole pick that I still fully intend on watching ASAP!

Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979)

Directed by:
Werner Herzog
Written by: Werner Herzog, Tom Schachtman, Martje Grohmann
Starring: Klaus Kinski, Isabelle Adjani, Bruno Ganz, Roland Topor & Walter Ladengast
What's It About? Count Dracula moves from Transylvania to Wismar, spreading the Black Plague across the land. Only a woman pure of heart can bring an end to his reign of horror.

A nice Thanksgiving watch, I'm sure. :hehe:

Been super busy this month (Only watched like 5 movies so far, which is crazy!) but this makes it easy! Hopefully I can catch it in the next couple of weeks!

Sorry for slacking all, it was a crazy month here. However, I wanted to start the new year with a filmography very much worth spending some time with. Our January category:

Rob Reiner

As most know, Rob was both a great actor and filmmaker, so anything he worked on on either side of the camera is eligible here. Everyone gets up to 4 picks, and voting will be open through the weekend. Let's celebrate this absolute legend. RIP to the Reiners.

My Rob Reiner picks:

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (I haven't seen it yet!)
The American President
A Few Good Men
Misery

ooh i miss this and would like to get back into it. (new year new thread for new ppl to jump in?)

The Princess Bride
A Few Good Men
Ghosts of Mississippi
When Harry Met Sally

all blind picks ....

I'll get back into this since I'm more or less caught up with everything I've wanted to watch and it's been a while. Nice way to pay tribute to Rob Reiner. My picks:

This is Spinal Tap
Spinal Tap II: The End Continues
When Harry Met Sally
A Few Good Men

The only one I've seen of those is the original Spinal Tap.

The American President
Shock and Awe
(seems fitting given current national events)
Stand By Me
When Harry Met Sally
