Okay, now that it's all over.... I'm going to tell my side of my betrayal here.
Kipobe opened up to me about his alliance with Erz and all that. I respected him for it, and honestly didn't have anything against him for it, but knew I'd always be the 3rd wheel to he and Erz. I felt that if it came down to the three of us, each of them would take each other to the finals, thus, I'd have to win my way there, and I'm only so so at most challenges, so that wasn't going to do me well. I didn't have anything against either of them, but I didn't want to be a pawn or just someone sailing along and not earning my keep. Thus, I decided to throw all caution to the wind and show all my cards. I got ahold of Hippie, Fran, and IF and shared all I knew with them.
If I recall correctly, I never asked Fran or IF for an alliance, I asked for their votes. I pretended to be very angry at both Kipobe and Erz so I'd rally them. I knew that the PM I sent them would get back to Erz or Kipobe but decided to go with it anyhow. (honestly, I expected IF to inform them before Fran, but oh well). I figured Kipobe would knew I was doing this, but just in case I figured I'd try to play it off by claiming I was tempting them. The AIM converation we all had was last minute planning that I was never really convinced worked. I figured I'd try to throw the blame on IF, but again, I figured it wouldn't matter anyhow. It was worth a shot.
The plan was to try to rally the vote against Erz and get him voted out. Then Hippie and I would try to work with Kipobe now that Erz was out of the way to send If and Fran home, and then the best two to make it to the finals make it. Hippie started this idea and I was all for it, but I didn't know exactly where he was so I acted hesitant on it... but that was the eventual plan.
It could have backfired on many levels but I didn't care. I didn't want to just coast along and not deserve to be in the finals or to win the game, so I figured I'd either earn my way there by overcoming the Erz/Kipobe alliance, or I'd go home on my own grounds.
Whether it worked or not, fact remains that Erz would have went home. I'm curious what Kipobe would have done when I went to him regarding the plan to stick with him. I had mentioned how I wanted to do this in a previous round during our AIM conversation and he said it was a good move and he understood, so I was hoping he'd see my reasoning this time and still stick with me.
So though it didn't look like it, I was still remaining loyal to Kipobe and Hippie, my main alliances. I had no desire to play kingpin, I just wanted Erz gone, and he would have if not for Matt's crappy decision making (and now apparently ease of being coarsed by Kipobe on two occassions... some host
). Whether Erz would have been gone to do me, or due to some outside source, it still would have happened, so I was happy with how it turned out. My talking with Brodie about Kipobe arranging his going home wasn't my framing Kipobe, but honestly my just informing Brodie of something he may or may not have known for buddies sake. Though neither he or Kipobe really allied with me in the beginning, they still worked with me and kept me around, so I wanted to honor that. And Kipobe mentioned something about me still being in contact with Fran and IF after I left, but I don't think I spoke with either of them after I left. I may have sent a message or two, but it wasn't anything important to the game. I was rooting for Hippie all along, but I knew that if Kipobe got to the end, he'd have my vote, as he deserves it. And he got it, no question.
