Hype Survivor HYPE SURVIVOR 21 - Day One, Part One discussion thread!

Honestly I have no doubt Showtime would be a more honest guest host than Brutal.

Just like if Zer00 (God Rest His Soul) was wanted to guest host, he would be far less honest than Showtime.
Exactly.

It's not people who've played in the game you have to look out for, it's idiots.

How does one judge someone's integrity without having ever really exchanged words at length with them ever?

Plus, all I ever am is honest, blunt at times, but honest nonetheless.

But my bias has nothing to do with this game. That's my point. Just because you get someone who hasn't played in the game, doesn't mean they're going to be any fairer of a judge than Showtime. Do you understand my point there?
Which is why I posted that there is no 100% way to guard against cheating. But with Showtime, and hey I like Showtime, it still would carry more of an obvious stigma than someone who wasn't involved.

And, honestly, I think Showtime would be more fair than most. I mean, I don't know him too well, but he's always seemed like a stand up guy, and being a lawyer, he's bound to know something about disregarding bias.
Like I said previously, and Showtime said something too, it'd carry a cloud around him.

Each host, hosts their own way, but I've been a part of these for a while and I've NEVER seen a former player then host. It just was always considered biased no matter how nice and even tempered the person was.

I've exchanged tons of words with you, can I judge your integrity?

Matt seems to want to do the opposite of Common sense, just to keep us on our toes.

But old ways aren't always the right way.

I am not worried about you being biased against me, honestly.

Yes, I have not had a real conversation with you, though I have read a lot of your posts on here and at Le Soft, and that is what I am using to base my opinion on.

Since I was not the only one to have such concerns - I think my view is not an incorrect one.

You could have when I first joined I guess, but not really anymore.
Why? I've never really had a problem with you other than you becoming a giant ass over the past year or so.

And if you even hint that zer00's ******ed feelings against you affect me in the least, I'll fly to California and slap you like a girl.

So I've hurt some peoples feelings, how does that make me dishonest?

Brutal, may be a rude guss, but I don't think I've ever seen anything to indicate he wouldn't be fair:huh:

But old ways aren't always the right way.

I've hosted. I've been one of the newest hosts.

And actually someone came up to me after they were eliminated, asked to host, and I told them no. Could they have done a good and unbiased job? Yes. But I wasn't about to create a situation where there was a point of contention. I'd have to think of the rest of the players regardless of how I felt about the former player.

If given the choice of having a guest host who wasn't part of the game or someone who was even for just 1 round, I'd have to go with the former.

I've never really had a problem with you either other than you becoming a giant ass over the past year or so.

I think Chris' point is that most aren't catching feelings over getting voted off, it was pretty clear to all of us that did get voted off that there was a nucleus kilq that was making it happen so who exactly would they be biased against ? it's like a group of 10 or more posters.

The true bias would come if say Jag was playing and Blind Fury who hadn't played was made guest host, Jag would surely be in more danger in that round than anyone here would be with Showtime as long standing personal beef is gonna carry more sway than being recently voted off by a whole slew of players.

BRUTAL would be a fair host. He's completely honest, even if I dislike his opinion on a certain post, etc. But we've always been cool with one another.

I don't care either way.

Yeah, that did happen.

What happened to us?

So I've hurt some peoples feelings, how does that make me dishonest?

Honestly I have no problem with you hurting peoples feelings - hell, I frequent a board ran by Zer00 - I am far more concerned with you showing extreme favoritism to certain posters.

Though I think grudges you may or may not have with a few other players in this game would also compromise judgment, that is a far lesser worry I have.

Honesty can only be judged by others. Everyone thinks that the expression of their opinion is just them "being honest." Not so.

But how about, just this once, trying something a bit difference? What's the absolute worst that could happen? Someone could lose a game being played among strangers over the internet?
