Hype Survivor HYPE SURVIVOR 21 - Day One, Part One discussion thread!

You've been right the whole time, I had to find out for myself. The hard way.

Well except for changing your name, the only thing you can do is tour the schools and give seminars on the dangers of having a numbered username. The first step is education.

"When Numbers Hurt: Forum Bias"

It's fortune enough to help out other would be posters realize the dangers of usernames with numbers.

I see you played by a young Kirk Cameron-type.

On a very special Growing Pains: Mike learns the dangers of mixing number with letters on internet message boards. :wow:

As long as Ben also becomes addicted to messageboards and Carol is forced to go out on a date with ***** after losing a bet.

Yes, Ben becomes addicted to message boards, but....

Carol learns the dangers of internet dating when she meets her 'DreamDude" in person and it turns out to be none other than *****! :wow:

Also, Johanna sends 'racy' pictures to Jason, but accidentally mistypes the e-mail and her pictures end up on an internet porn site.

PLUS, Jason loses the family home from compulsive internet gambling. :csad:

Emmy Award Winning TV. Now the question is, will this special spin off into a Just the Ten of Us Special?

I perfer to keep a middle ground. I like to have a couple experience allies, and a couple rookies. The rookies are more likely to follow you blindly early in the game but can become unpredictable later in the game (like Darthphere). The experienced ones are better allies once you establish trust, but when little rumor or slip and you suddenly have a fierce enemy on your hand. They can also be more power hungry (ala Movies205). That is why I like to keep a balance. I can manipulate both against each other to keep focus off me. The vets trust me enough to fall for it and the rookies are naive enough to bite. And when if one alliance backstabs me (Darthphere and Socrates), I fall back on my other (Clerk and Slipknot).

New players have their place, no doubt... and sometimes they can even prove to be quite capable (rogue_devlin, perfect example... could've been a valid rookie winner). How much I trust them though is another story.

In order to win, great sacrifices have to be made on the part of other players... and I'm convinced that a small bit of chance has to fall too. Newer players risk making eratic moves, and I don't like keeping people under thumb... I like watching experienced people make experienced moves. If I trust an experienced player and I fear them overtaking me, I trust I can outwit them. I've gone toe-to-toe (and been outnumbered) by people like kypade, several times no less, and I trust I can outmaneuver him every time. I could be wrong... it could be unfounded cockiness... but it's all part of the fun of the game.

we get it, youre good at the game. you still dont have a soul

I don't think I could respect a hitman who attends all his victim's funerals. If you have a job to do, execute and don't look back.

However, you're the only funeral I would attend. So even if I don't have a soul for anyone else, I do for you. :csad:

What reason do I have to lie? I have no problem being hated by everyone else. In fact, I warmly embrace it. When have you ever seen me this devoted unless I want something from you?
