I hear Batman and Robin is very Silver Age, I don't know if that's true or not, I've only read Batman Golden Age which outside of a historical context is nothing mroe than Murder She Wrote with Batman or any other serialized mystery story.

I got the Forever one on VHS when I was into Val Kilmer. VHS Batman will probably never be watched again.

Yeah, I wouldn't know either. Doesn't matter... they're terrible movies. If it's true, twas a dark time for the dark knight.

I'm curious to see what the Director's Cut is like because Schumacher isn't a bad film maker, I enjoyed both Phone Booth and Falling Down, though they fell short of greatness.

Wow. Forever on VHS.
Wow.

I like B 89 for the atmospheric Batman and I like Begins for the character accuracy and Wayne

Some people can't direct a film that has another origin other than a fresh script. Shoemaker is one of them.

Well it was a different time, different time different interpretations... I mean if comic books are being read by millions of little kids, Batman not going be a brooding complex character, he's going be a happy go-lucky guy who catches the crazy villians... That's kind of why I'm not the biggest fan of Batman Begins, it's too much like the comic, I like seeing different takes on these characters. And also one of hte reasons Superman Returns blows.

Good point, but I hear Phantom of Opera is suppose to be great, never checked it out and that could be whole another cup of tea.

But then in other scenarios it works. Example: it's the direction I wanted (and didn't get) for Spider-Man... and it worked for X-Men.

Batman Begins just feels like an indy film to me. I like indy films, but I like my blockbusters to feel like blockbusters. Batman 89 also had that real comicky feel without feeling like a forced adaptation.

I have a feeling the sequel will be a bit more Blockbuster-ish because they won't have to do the backstory :o

Unless they try and give the origin of the Joker...which I wouldn't like very much

Spider-Man 1 far too corny, Spider-Man 2- Kick Ass but it mgiht be beccause I'm a sucker for awesome action sequences and Alfred Molina kicked ass. I got to agree wiht BB, you see the preview for Prestige, that looks ****in kick ass

And god I hope the action scenes are done better, I hate that style of film-making when it comes to action scenes... It works in the beginning but toward the end, give me a little something more.

Yeah, the whole frenzied feeling wasn't too great, I know its supposed to be "HE'S BATMAN SO YOU GET THE FEELING OF PEOPLE GETTING PWNT SO FAST YOU CAN'T SEE IT"

but.......I want to see Christian Bale kick ass........you go to a Batman movie to see Batman kick ass......

I like the acting though, I mean I think Christian Bale did a great job along with Gary Oldman and others. I just hope they go in a more original direction and start putting more of there staple on it instead of trying to cram so much in.

Yeah...I hope the film makes more money too......

and it probably will since the Joker will be in it, they need to do a better job on promoting the film though :o

It's the mindset though... nothing against whatshisname cuz I think he's a great director (nolan), but he doesn't go for the theatrical moment at the right time, and he plays the card in a forced moment at the wrong time.

The music is a perfect example. The 'theme' itself is incredibly strong and has so much potential. It strums up alot of emotion at some points, but other critical moments it feels like a missed opporturnity.

Another area is the action: very poorly done. I don't buy that whole "he's elusive, no one can watch him clearly" crap. That's a copout. I wanna see redone action, and I want more moments of peril... more movement in the action instead of a standstill-beat up the thugs-nonsense.

Lastly, some lines aren't stated clearly enough, and others are too pronounced. That's okay... that's how it should be... only thing is, it's done at the wrong points again and it emphasises crappy lines like: 'it's not who I am underneath, it's what I doooooooooooooooo that defines me'. Ugh. Theatricality is overdone.

Bat's voice: for the love of god man, work on that Bale.

And if Johnny Depp is the Joker, I'll leap for joy (regardless of how stupid and hated the suggestion is, I love the idea). I was convinced after watching Chocolate Factory a month after BB. It fits:(

Well, regardless of what they say, this had alot of Year One as its plotline. Once Falcone was gone, Batman really became Batman. Unfortunately, I don't believe Batman existing in the Gotham City they introduced us to in Begins.

I know I'm being highly critical, but I really did like the film.

Also, Bale should've held out for Bond. He would've been a sexcellent Bond, even more than a Bruce Wayne.

I still want Jackman or Denis Leary for the Joker :(

......and I want Jackman for Harvey Dent.......

.......

anyways, the Bat Voice was a little hard to take seriously, the kinda hazy voice Keaton and Kilmer did worked. I actually liked it. The music was incredible though, especially when the camera hovers over the mountains of the Himalayas and they're playing that awesome theme....just great...

Keaton ran?

And the music was great, don't get me wrong.... but it was like a long suite cut up into parts.... not a true score. This was intentional, I know... but another example of an indy-film director missing the mark on a blockbuster movie.

I think he did. When he was trying to save some chick? I can't remember, but it was hilarious and totally worth a DVD purchase. Which I haven't acted upon. Yet. Prolly never.
