Theon [blackout]killed two innocent little boys in cold blood on his quest to "prove himself." He deserved a great deal of torture for that, imo. The Starks treated him far better than they had to, so it's not like he had the worst life imaginable before going "home." He wasn't dealt a terrible hand compared to many in that world.[/blackout]
[BLACKOUT] He didn't personally kill them, he just allowed them to be killed. Not much of a difference, but a difference all the same. I wouldn't say it was cold blood either as he didn't make that decision lightly, he was pressured into it by Dagmar in the show and Ramsay in the books. And he laments their deaths later on as well.
He was weak more than cruel, and his original intention was to take Winterfell without any casualties and rule it in what he thought would be fair. He was a well-meaning weakling who got lost in his own foolish mistakes that were exacerbated by more evil men.
Personally, I think that what Ramsay did extends beyond torture.....it's just ****ing horrific how he dehumanized someone and reduced them to the lowest possible point of existence. That's something I'd reserve for the truly evil people of the world, and I don't really consider Theon evil. [/BLACKOUT]
