Hype TV Club does Game of Thrones in February!

i got stark, though i do not sow.

I got Targaryen, which confuses me greatly and excites me in ways that only Trebeck's mother can match.

Targaryens don't like the snow though... Yellow or not,

I got House Baratheon, so I'm gonna choose to believe we're talking about Stannis here. #TeamDragonstone

I got... House Baratheon?

Ours is the fury! You're a fun and jolly soul who likes action, adventure and indulging in your pleasures (perhaps more often than you should)! A good, fierce and loyal friend; people instantly like you because you are personable, funny and you always get things done

Me too, brootha.

Edit: Unless, like flickchick said, it's referring to Stannis. Then ew. :(

House Lannister, "Hear Me Roar". Huh... :wow: Well, I guess at least it's got Tyrion in it.

A Lannister always pays his debts! This can be both negative and positive as you repay kindness as well as vengeance. You have something magnificent about you that draws people to you. It could be your wit, your charm, your beauty, or your physical abilities. You have it all!

Tyrion is Rhaegar reincarnated. Even though both were alive at the same time. its the truth and reason GRRM chose to split WoW into 2 books and Dream of Spring in 2049

So I took the test:

Fire and blood! You are strong, wise, confident and bold. There's no denying that there's something special about you, which people are naturally drawn too. Like a dragon, you are beautiful and wise, but can also turn fierce when angered. Others should watch out!

bumping this to see if anyone has watched anymore. i'm going to probably start season 3 tomorrow. i still plan to go back and finish fringe too

Well Toonth and JP finished a while back. Pretty sure E-Man gave up well before that. Was there anyone else who was going all the way? I know several of us were just re-living the ride vicariously through you all, lol.

i thought a few more were other than me.

was browsing dA and this artist is a big fan according to their gallery

ok i lied.

started season 3. first episode is over. Still think Samwell looks like one of our posters here, and i'm not the only one who thinks so. i'm glad ghost saved him, but it's weird that he and snow are separated. it kinda reminds me of the His Dark Materials trilogy by Pullman and the direwolves, are the daemons of the Stark kids. i know it's a loose comparison. i'm mostly just teasing about how they're never around then show up at the right time.

i don't know margaery's story, or how much of what she is doing is for show, but it's obvious Cersei doesn't like her, and definitely doesn't trust her. bs or not, it was nice for her to say what she did to the orphan kids. she's more of a man than joffrey for doing that, while he stayed in his dorky lil box. plus, she's definitely endearing herself to the common folk. i know JP loves that :o

man, tywin really hates tyrion. he's way nicer to arya than he is to his own son. i can understand he blames him for his mother's death, but it sounds like it happened all the time back then to a lot of people. lady lannister had 2 rough pregnancies; first twins, then a dwarf. eek.

it's nice to see Sir Barrister again. i think that's his name. The honorable knight or whatever that Joffrey dismissed. there has to be at least 1 decent guy out there in the realm, and since Ned is gone, well, it's a small bunch to pick from lol. did they really have to cut the guy's nipple off though? lol really?
the dialogue/translation between the man, dany and the interpreter was pretty amusing.

alas, on to episode 2 :argh:

edit: and to make sure i'm not completely lost, the northman who were killed in the place Robb and co. went to, Jamie did that?

Eeeew, the nipple chopping. I forgot about that! :(

Ha, I've made that exact same comparison before, so I agree. There is certainly a connection there beyond an owner/pet dynamic.

I think what you're referring to is all the dead Northmen at Harrenhal? Where the Lannisters were keeping prisoners? If so, it was Gregor Clegane that did that ("The Mountain"). The revenge Lord Karstark wants on Jaime is for his son that Jaime killed in an escape attempt a few episodes back in S2.

Wake up, Lord Theon. :ninja:

oh also Catelyn is great that episode

Still on board, but lagging way far behind. I just wanna savour the watching experience for as long as I can (but I couldn't resist the curiosity and I spoiled bits and pieces for myself by browsing the net). Totally in love with this series, the actors are all phenom.

One of my favourite bits so far is when Dany stands up to Viserys and goes: 'The next time you raise your hand at me will be the last time you have hands'. Of course
I've already made it past the part where Viserys gets his golden crown. :wow:

I love Renly... Glad to see him with Loras. You don't see all too many badass gay knights on shows with medieval-esque settings, so yeah. Team Renly all the way.

i couldn't figure out why they called Loras the flower knight until i learned that the rose was the sigil or symbol of house Tyrell. so many house and people!

i'm about to start ep5 of season3 and it's about time Dany got interesting. really enjoyed the ending of that episode.
Grandma Tyrell is pretty great. i like her sass. there's so many characters i don't remember who some of them are lol, like the guy who is going to fight The Hound in trial by combat.

the bits with the young stark boys kinda bore me. arya and catelyn are prob my favorite starks, not counting Snow.
i'm kinda glad that the daddy/grandpa got his due, but not too fond of the mutiny. and rip to mormont (sp?)

i said this in a skype chat, but jamie lannister is better looking with the facial scruff. and i do kinda feel bad about what happened to him. it's nice to know he isn't completely evil for what he did for Brienne.

to keep track, i still hate: Baelish, The Mountain, melissandre, Theon's sister, and so many more lol

The guy fighting The Hound is one of the knights that Ned sent to arrest The Mountain in season one. Beric Dondarrion. It being a different actor and him not even being mentioned since season 1 made a lot of people miss that he had ever even been in the show. I didn't know that was him until after season 3 lol

no wonder i didn't recognize him lol

i just finished season 3, episode 9 and i am pissed!!!!!

this was me for the last 10 minutes or so

i guess this was the infamous Red Wedding. O.M.G. i had to turn my head at the brutality of it. Filch has just made my top 8 on Myspace of most hated people on this show. they even had to kill the wolf! -_____-
but seriously, what they did to Talisa was so so cruel. i remember seeing Taking Lives in the movie theatres (jolie/hawke) and there's a scene towards the end that's reminiscent and i remember a collective intake of breathe, gasps and omgs by pretty much everyone in the theatre. this was so so worse. thank goodness the blood spill was so theatrical cuz i needed that to look as unrealistic as popular. i truly hate gore. why the heck am i still watching this?!?!

like i'm totally mad. these episode 9's are killing me. it's time for me to go to bed, but how can i go to bed after i just saw that.

Catelyn deserved so much better. she might've been my favorite on the show, definitely one of the front runners. how many massacres does Arya have to watch? the pairing of her and the hound is kinda interesting.
shoutout to Tyrion for being a decent dude. i totally forgot that Sansa is 14.

btw, i think i'm the only one here who doesn't really care about Ygritte? also, i really hope Tarly picked up that dragon blade before he ran. i can't remember if he did or not. but while he was braving the White Walker and afterwards, i hummed I'll make a man out of you" lol. Let's get down to business, to defeat, the White Walkers!

edit: i totally did not know we had a Game of Thrones subforum lol and i work here

Hahahaha as soon as I saw a new post in here I thought to myself "Did she make it to the Red Wedding yet??" I remember that scene in Taking Lives too, I think we're all of maybe a dozen people who do lol.
