I <3 the Venture Bros.

Oh man I loved that episode. One of the best episodes of the series IMO.

And you can't beat 'can you read my mind?'

I wasn't that impressed with "Hope Floats." It was good, and better than most other adult comedy cartoons by leaps and bounds, but not quite up to the Venture standard, in my opinion. I totally see WallCrawl's point about Brock being *****fied this season after this episode. He was this uber-knowledgeable badass spy last season, but this season he doesn't even know how to control a simple jetpack and he's laid out by a gunshot and a single dart? He took like 50 of those darts and got hit by a truck in the first season.

Anyway, that's minor. The rest of the episode was just kind of off to me. Things didn't feel quite right. Doc Venture's seething, underlying hatred of the boys was replaced by some weird need to get Dean a "speed suit" (although I admit, the fondling part was pretty funny), for one thing. I don't know, maybe I'll like it more when I watch it again in half an hour.

Well...his last name IS Samson...

I also noticed Brock being all weird and shut. I think maybe it was because he had to deal with less crap than usual. There's no liscence application or faux-pirate ghosts to screw up the day. But I also think they're trying to drive the Brock Samson: Agent of O.S.I. angle home. That, and if you're just hanging with PL and Brock for like half an episode, you need jokes in there.

I did love the opening. I was proised the best opening ever, and was not disappointed. When 24 pulled into the driveway and was just automatically all "Daaah," that cracked me up. Also, I thought that Monarch couldn't fly, and forgot that the cocoon could move.

Rusty's speed suit thing is kind of weird, though. But I think the point of that whole thing was Rusty is grooming Dean to be his heir. Phantom Limb is so erudite and fey that I have trouble taking him seriously. And that quadruple amputee ruse seemed risky; You're telling them to shoot him?

the opening scene was great. I loved the sound fxs. :D

:( Corpulent beat me to the idea of making that avvy

Finally bought season one on DVD.

Does anyone have a clue about who did the art on the interior of the DVD case?

Bill Sienkiewicz. I had to look up the last name for the spelling, but I totally knew who it was.

The art he did for the DVD is ****ing sweet. I'd love to have full size posters of those images.

hehehe Hank and Dean with guns :D I wouldv'e loved that in the last ep.

Dean : Don't say it.
Hank : You look like the mayor of Candy Land.
Dean : *shoots Hank in the head*

:D Time for another clone :D

Are you ready for anything?

Yes.

Are you still ready for anything?! *punch*

Mad Bumps.

So, what, the Venture Bros. Isn't good enough to talk about any more?

That eps was pure gold in oh so many ways:(

The ending with poe being cut open. Warburton is such a vocal genius.

I loved the fact that we got part 2 and never part 1. That must've ****ed with a lot of casual viewers' heads. :D

I actually missed the first like five minutes, so I came in on Rusty and Orpheus one-upping each other in the lab. That super ****ed with my head.

Billy was really weird in this episode. Also, Rusty and Mr. White are mean.
Triana wears the same thing every day, except for when she wore a different outfit in the episode before this one. Oops.
H. Jon Benjamin as the Master. Really freaky, and the familiar voice didn't help.

Anyone else notice Brock on the back of the Rusty Venture lunch box?

I love Brock in this ep "Aw this is gettin' STUPID!" :D

Always wanted to get Edgar Allen Poe in a headlock :D That thing's like a pumpkin!

Last week was great too :p

Dean - Hank, the Apaches are back!
Hank - Huh?
Dean - Teepee in your shorts!
Hank - AAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!! My shorts are haunted!!!!

:p

I don't see what's wrong with Brock being more...social I guess. The ''silent but cool'' thing would have only lasted for so long. Besides,Patrick Warburton rocks, the more lines he gets the better.

It's not the fact that he's talking more that bothers me. It's the fact that he hasn't been kicking as much ass lately. He went from the bat**** craziness of mowing down an entire roomful of the Monarch's henchmen with a murderous gleam in his twitching eye to happily skipping over to Phantom Limb and saying stuff like, "That killer hand thing is cool! Can I have one?" What the ****? Brock Samson doesn't need any goddamn killer hand thing! He's Brock ****ing Samson!

I'm glad I'm not crazy. It was good to see brock exercise some violence with extreme prejudice this episode. The Orpheus and Cerebus thing didn't really work for me though.
